Hello There!

Macro Mondays is a theme-based weekly challenge group. This week's challenge? Keyhole!

I won't tell you how old I am, after all, a lady never reveals her age! However, I would have you know that the teeny keyhole is on my first diary, circa 1965!

A rather fun project to photograph and reading the journal entries was a blast! Glad I saved my diary!

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving me a comment. It is always a pleasure to hear from you! Have a wonderful day!

This is the keyhole on a clasps of an antique bracelet that belonged to my grandmother, passed on to my mother and then myself. Precious memories.

Let's see wat's on the other side .. Oh look it's 2021!!!

Samsonite suitcase lock, measures 3/4". Image measures 2" on the long side. The lock is on top of a lavender container with holographic paper in the background. I used a small flashlight to light the keyhole.

Macro Mondays: Keyhole

I feel quite lucky to have found this special keyhole within one kilometer of my house, the maximum distance we're allowed for walks during the lockdown.

I found the difficulty with the them was not being able to use the keyhole as a viewpoint (showing something the other side) or being able to show a key in the lock. Those two requirements made it rather tricky to produce something different. How to make just the keyhole appear interesting? My effort is not too marvelous - I tried to concentrate on the texture and colour. The theme was more difficult that I thought at first. A very few have taken some very original shots. Well done to them!

Most U.K. houses have external meter boxes with the meters for gas, electricity and sometimes water meters inside that can be read by officials without having to enter your house.

They have an internal locking mechanism that require a triangular key to open the door.

I couldn't resist taking this shot, the view through a decorative stone wall.I believe the wall was built in the Victorian period, the workmanship was intricate, the designed gap was one of many in the structure.
