The perfect day to enjoy Biscayne Bay and celebrate the discovery of the Americas credited to Christopher Columbus sailing under the Spanish flag. Columbus Day Regatta, Port Everglades Lighthouse, Key Biscayne, Fl., USA
Such a fantasitcal Saturday at Jimbo's to get a few hours of shooting before it's closed down. Jimbo wrote a letter to the city saying he wanted to hand it over to them, so they could perhaps not close it down completely, being that it's such a well-known spot in Miami. But, being that you never know if it'll be closed off for good, we went just in case.
Another new bird for me from the fall migration. The first few days were tough with the rain and terrible light......but without those conditions the birds may not have stopped (that's what the experienced birders I ran into were saying anyway) The birds were so occupied actively feeding all day long that it definitely helped to overcome the inhospitable weather.

Find a tree that's full of ripe fruit and you never know what might appear! I was watching for warblers when this noisy pair arrived.
MIAMI EVOLVED
I've been taking photos of the Miami Skyline from Key Biscayne for years, it's one of my favorite places. Change has been evident and one can only wonder if it's evolution, adaptation or degeneration of our beautiful city. I can only hope it's our way to adapt to the ever changing urban challenges. I also hope we never forget the beautiful landscape that surrounds us. Miami is still, undoubtedly breathtaking.
