Montmorency Falls Named by Samuel de Champlain, the Montmorency Falls stand 98 feet higher than Niagara. They are the highest falls in Quebec and stand in Quebec City. Several sets of stairs allow visitors to view the falls from many angles
Historic District of Old Quebec This UNESCO World Heritage Site traces its history to 1620 and the establishment of the Saint-Louis Fort. Old Quebec is known for its architecture and its value as a testament to the impact of colonization.

As we drove up to the weir, this was one of the first things I spotted... how could you miss it... it was about a foot across!
The walls around the fort were constructed between 1839 and 1848. Although Lower Fort Garry may appear to be a military fort, it never saw a battle... the walls and the gun portals are largely ornamental!

This is the view shortly after we turned onto the Easterville turnoff... it is the highest point around, and you can see the wilderness for miles upon miles...
I have always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon.... and someday will bite the bullet and pay the exorbitant amount they want for a ride!
After 1860, the trail remained a cut-off for travellers from Pembina heading west. Pioneer families such as the Hogues and Beauchemins settled near The Passage where a ferry was operated between 1870-1908. Ironically, the low water that made The Passage a good fording site rendered a poor choice for a ferry crossing.
In 1992, this site was dedicated as a historic site in the City of Winnipeg.

Rowan berries at Alma, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The latin name is Sorbus aucuparia. Common names are rowan, or mountain ash. It is a tree which grows to a height of 15-25 ft, spread 8-12 ft., with white flowers May and June followed by the berries which begin to ripen in August and are popular with the birds, but don't know if they are edible by humans. Different species have different colour berries, which can be red, orange, yellow or white.

The Canadian Tulip Festival / Festival Canadien des Tulipes in Ottawa the capital city of Canada
The Canadian Tulip Festival began after the Second World War, when Princess Juliana of the Netherlands presented Ottawa with 100,000 tulip bulbs as a token of friendship in 1945.
Canada had provided asylum for the Dutch royal family during the war and played a strong role in the Netherlands’ liberation. While the royal family sought refuge in Ottawa, Princess Juliana gave birth to Princess Margriet on January 19th 1943 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. The Canadian government temporarily declared the room “Dutch soil,” to ensure that the Princess would remain in line for the throne.
The Netherlands continues to give Ottawa 20,000 tulip bulbs every year.
Ottawa’s first Canadian Tulip Festival took place in May 1953 and opened with an inauguration ceremony at Parliament Hill.
The Canadian Tulip Festival has grown into the largest annual display of tulips in North America.
The Canadian Tulip Festival is also a celebration of the return of spring, with over a million tulips in 50 varieties blooming in public spaces across the National Capital Region.

ByWard Market This massive indoor market is one of Ottawa's biggest tourist attractions. It contains representatives from more than 500 business, at least half of them local artisans and farmers. It sees the most traffic during the summer months.

Parliament Hill, located on the banks of the Ottawa River Canada's capital city, is home to the Canadian Parliament. The gorgeous location and dramatic architecture make this a huge tourist location-- more than 3 million people come every year.
The Peace Tower is a large clock tower in Ottawa, Ontario that sits at the center of Parliament Hill. This iconic Canadian building appears on both the fifty- and twenty-dollar Canadian bills. It is more than 300 feet tall.
