Kayaking is a popular sport along the Southern Norwegian coast. Here from Galtesund, just outside of Arendal town.
Back in 2004, my Daughter Alex and I rented a kayak for an expedition down the Estero River, to the Mound Key in Florida.
A kayak is a small human-powered boat. It typically has a covered deck, and a cockpit covered by a spraydeck. It is propelled by a double-bladed paddle in the hands of a sitting paddler. The kayak was used by the native Ainu, Aleut and Eskimo hunters in sub-Arctic regions of northeastern Asia, North America and Greenland. Modern kayaks come in a wide variety of designs and materials for specialized purposes. Kayaks are in some parts of the world referred to as canoes.
A little kayaking fun at the Ferdinand Street boat launch, looking at Seward Park and the little cove made by the Bailey Pensinsula and the "mainland" of Seattle. Our flotilla consisted of 5 boat and lots of friends.
Photos from K4's depature and first two days paddling and camping along the Atlantic side of Cape Eleuthera. On the first night K4 camped at "Deal's Point" and then continued on to Plum Creek for their second night.

During a photo tour in May 2013 I spotted these two kayakers on the Baltic Sea. Imagine being out there with no-one else around, just the Sea, the nightless night and this beautiful sunset.
The atmosphere was magic and I wished it was me out there. Someday I have to leave my camera at home and do this myself!

On Sunday 17th Feb, twenty Mosman residents participated in the Kayak Mosman event, part of the Living Mosman series of workshops and events.
Participants had the opportunity to view the Mosman foreshore from a different perspective, kayaking around Mosman Bay, Little Sirius Bay, Athol Bay, Taylors Bay and Chowder Bay.
It was a beautiful sunny day where participants learnt about our local marine environment and some of the actions Council have implemented to protect this precious environment.
