Octobian Sunday Afternoon - Downtown Taipei - Botanical Gardens and Chiang Kai Shek Memorial - Shooting with Ye Old Nikon D3100 and the 35mm.
What a gorgeous day it was today. A little searing in the direct sun still. Off to the Taipei Botanical Gardens.
The day included the 228 Memorial Museum now housed in the building that before was the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange. It's an incredibly well-done restoration! The Temple of Heaven building at the University of Taipei has been refurbished. Wow. One of my favorites!
The Botanical Gardens had survived all the recent typhoons with little visible damage. What a lovely place it is. I was delighted to wander and wonder through the paths of this magical place today. I'll be going back soon. It's so close via MRT.
The the Chiang Kai Memorial. The light just couldn't be any better than it was this afternoon. October, sun lower, clarity from proxity of southern tropical cyclone. Great stuff. As October 10th is a big national holiday, it was not a surprise to see a very impressive military demonstration was given on the grounds of the memorial.
