Poor little Kai. For some reason he freezes when his ears are covered, so he was in this position with his paw sticking out until we pulled the hood back.

Kai Yuan Temple
Although ancient temples are my passion I have a strong taboo about photographing inside of them. But sometimes I silently "ask" the dieties for permission and if everything feels right I quickly do it.
The altar area of this temple has so many unusual things in it. There are some flying angel-beings which look quite like the ones in Indonesia. There are some golden statues with long dark hair who look like westerners. There are some black-skinned statues which I have never seen in a Chinese temple before. One of them is partially seen in the left foreground here.
Kais Monastery is located very close to Kullu and almost 10Kms away from it. The best part is that anyone can see this monastery from both banks of the Beas River close to Kullu. Lush green hills are surrounding the place which makes the place a favorite destination for the tourists visiting Kullu.
