We stand on guard for thee! Bailey Puggins is ready to celebrate! She's a little old lady with a mighty big bow! LOL Bailey is 15½ years old now, her black mask has faded to grey, her eyes weep and she has that classic Pug frown mouth, but she is one happy, spunky old girl!

Out last evening with Carol and Jill to see the Canada Day 2013 fireworks display at Columbia Lake...lots of fun, noise and colours around! This is a composite with the lower part of the image and one of the fireworks as the base image and some of my other favourites added for the overall feel of the night.
.... I am Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand up for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, and free to choose those who shall govern my country .... Canada is one of the great democracies in the world, freedom and liberty is its nationality ....

Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada) is the national day of Canada. A federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867, with the passing of the British North America Act, 1867 where the three separate colonies of the United Canadas, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada. Originally called Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), the holiday was renamed in 1982 when the Canadian Constitution was patriated by the Canada Act 1982. Canada Day celebrations take place throughout the country, as well as in various locations around the world attended by Canadians living abroad.
My husband’s great-great-great grandfather Henry Steeves was one of the fathers of Confederation, the oil painting still hangs in Charlottetown City Hall, in Prince Edward Island’s capital city that depicts all the fathers present.
