Heroically posing after a job well done. I mistakenly booked a manual-transmission van for moving day, so my dad swooped in and bailed me out. It was a three-man job navigating the streets of Berlin, but we got it done!

This will be the last photo that I post of the blossoms. It was really rainy and I wasn't thrilled to get my camera soaked and my dog was begging to go back to the car! Also, I've got a long way to go until I'll be happy with the good majority of my photos. There are still a few trees in bloom around my house, so I may try to go get in some more practice this weekend.
So today was my day off...which of course meant that I spent most of it at work. But I got to see my favorite patient (Ziggy) and he's doing great. He got bit by an unknown entity that caused a good part of his arm to slough off. We've been doing bandages changes every day to every other day for the last 6 weeks. Today we sent him home without a bandage and he's doing great! That cat taught me patience in my practice...I wanted to lop the leg off (sounds heartless, I know) a long time ago. But animals are amazing healers and he fixed himself right up.
Most days I love my job...those days have been sparse lately, but it usually works out to be more good than bad days. Today was a day where I hate being in the military. People tend to become power-mongers and think that if they have rank that if they want something, it WILL be done now. Hell, I find myself doing it on occasion and have to reign myself back. This kind of situation happened today and it was completely un-called for. It got me riled up, which I had been trying to avoid. But crisis averted, yet again...

Menands firefighters return to the truck after completing a mutual aid assignment at the scene of a structure fire
In September 2020, the Riverside Fire burned through the Timber Lake Job Corps CCC in Estacada, Oregon. Students and staff evacuated safely ahead of the fire, and most of the core facilities survived but damage was significant. Some staff lost their homes, the campus was without water, power, or reliable access for a long time. Rebuilding and restoration was challenging.
Wastewater Treatment Operator Brian Hickman played a critical role in the rebuilding efforts after Riverside Fire burn over.
