I'm pretty sure that this 100 year old Wolcott, NY town square statue, "Venus Rising From The Sea" got a new paint job recently.
I am not sure if I would have been comfortable doing that.

[Just kidding. I think the missing panel was the result of wind damage from a spring storm a few days earlier.]
Playing around with some stuff from a bike ride last month. Notice how the bright copper-hued facade is reflecting in the river. Back in the day the guys in that photo were working, that would have been natural color of the river... or worse depending on the season.

Lowlands Festival celebrated it's 25th birthday in style. Sold out, a rearranged terrain and more freedom then previous editions. As a night reporter for 3voor12, I didn't get to see a whole lot of the day program and didn't take as much pictures as previous editions. Still, here's a bunch.

❝But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.❞

Jason welcomed a Queen’s Speech that tackles the issues the people of the Colne Valley, Holme Valley and Lindley are concerned about: jobs, immigration, crime and transport.
Jason’s priorities include supporting local businesses, who will benefit from the National Insurance Contributions Bill and the Deregulation Bill. The former puts in place a £2,000 employment allowance which will support jobs and help small businesses to grow, whilst the latter will reduce the burden of unnecessary or excessive red tape.
The Immigration Bill ensures that the UK attracts people who will contribute and deters those who will not. It will stop immigrants from accessing benefits that they are not entitled to. Foreign nationals who commit serious crime will be deported, private landlords will be required to check the immigration status of tenants and firms who employ illegal labour will face substantial fines.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Bill will give the police powers to tackle anti-social behaviour, forced marriage, dangerous dogs and illegal firearms used by gangs and in organised crime.
Jason is the Vice Chairman of the All Party Parliament Group for Rail in the North, and is delighted to see the introduction of the High Speed Rail (Preparation) Bill. This Bill will enable the building of HS2 from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds ‘as fast as possible’. Despite continued investment, the East Coast line as well as many others will not be able to cope with the increased number of passengers in the decades to come, and the HS2 scheme frees up capacity for existing lines, as well as helping to break down the North-South divide.
The Mortgage scheme will help those who can afford to pay a mortgage but cannot raise the large deposits required, whilst the Help to Buy scheme makes loans available to people to buy new-build homes. The Care Bill will put a cap on the cost of care so that no-one has to sell their home in their lifetime to pay for residential care.
