Okay, this has been a BIG week of BIG announcements around here. As if the WPJA acceptance wasn't enough, I have also accepted a full-time job as a graphic/web designer with www.imagekind.com/!

There's a paradigm in my life of the Universe (God/higher power/fate/the force/whatever you want to call it) presents perfect opportunities to me exactly when I'm ready for them. Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way, says, "What we really want to do is what we are really meant to do. When we do what we are meant to do, money comes to us, doors open for us, we feel useful, and the work we do feels like play to us."
I am being hired because of my background in user interface (UI) design. While I always design with the user in mind, I rarely get to do UI design on projects for which I am the actual target audience! I am so excited to bring my web, design AND photography experience to the Imagekind team to further the business and vision.
So, what does this mean for you, my amazing freelance photo clients?
Well, I'm finishing up the last of my family photo sessions by the end of the day tomorrow because I know you're excited to see your photos and have them ready for the holidays. I am still booking wedding, portrait, pet, kids & families, and coquette sessions for 2008. You know me—I've always done my own freelance thing on the side when I've had a full-time job. I love what I do; photographing candid moments, authentic memories and real people is my passion. I imagine I will be more selective about the sessions I take so that I can sort of pretend that I know what "work/life balance" means, and I might take a look at my stated image processing times. What WON'T change is my dedication to excellence while capturing the important moments of your life that tell the story of who you are. So if you have a session you want to book, drop a line!

The film Dante's Peak was filmed in or around the town of Wallace, Idaho in 1996. This collection compares scenes from the movie with their real life counterparts, taken in 2007 while working a summer job in the area. I love the film, and I had a lot of time on my hands, enjoy!

The cricket pavilion at Roberts Park, home to the Saltaire club, members of the JCT600 Bradford Cricket League. It dates from 1869, when the club was formed. The historic structure received a makeover in 2001. It is part of the Saltaire World Heritage Site. Pictured before Saltaire's first victory of the season, a three-wicket success, obtained with six balls to spare, over fellow Division One strugglers Farsley. The groundsman, their work on wicket and outfield complete, take a breather in the sun.

Saltaire Cricket Club has played in the 14-acre Roberts Park since formation in 1869. The Green Flag-awarded park did not open until 1871, but the cricketers played on as construction work continued around them. The club joined the Bradford Cricket League in 1905, two years after it was established. Famous ex-players include former Lancashire and Warwickshire medium pacer Sydney Barnes (1873-1967) and former England, Auckland, Essex and Surrey spin bowler Jim Laker (1922-1986).

at the time of recovering i had joined weight watchers with my wife and a series of events in one day tore a muscle in my foot resulting in the inevitable calling my case worker to end my relation with this job .
Since i recovered from that and found permanent employment elsewhere since.
