Bennilover posted a picture of The Essence of Benni - maybe not technically perfect but one that she couldn't bring herself to delete - and invited us to post similar photos.
I took this picture in mid April. Winter was hanging on and the temps had only warmed up to the 50s and then suddenly one day it was 85 degrees. We had no time to get acclimated to the warm weather but I was more than ready to brave the heat and go look for flowers. Jimmy followed as I walked all over our complex. I would stop to take pictures and he would find some shade to sit under while he waited. After a half hour I stopped to take pictures of tulips along a fence and the only shade Jimmy could find was a 2 inch strip on the side of an electrical box. When I started to leave, Jimmy got up to follow me and I finally noticed that he was actually panting. I walked straight home so so he could get out of the heat.
This picture is over exposed, blown out, there are weeds, the electrical box is ugly and Jimmy is blurry. But it is also the essence of Jimmy. He will do whatever it takes to be by my side. How could I possibly delete a picture that reminds me how lucky I am to have such a true friend.

An image from a photo shoot I arranged for my photography group. This is Jimmy, he's a really cool character!
Now that we're half way through July I'm in full panic mode that summer will be over too soon. So here come pictures of cats outside - forget those cats in cages in a basement!
My cats love being outside in the summer even when it's so hot out that most humans and animals would chose to be inside where it's about 20 degrees cooler. When I come home from work in the late afternoon and the black asphalt in the parking lot is radiating heat, Jimmy and Mack will come out of nowhere to great me. I have to practically run from my car to the sidewalk so they don't burn their feet trying to get to me. I always pat their fur and it's always cool so they know how to survive the heat AND be outside. Smart kitties.

One of their new D-Lights breakfast sandwiches. Whole-grain English muffin, turkey sausage, cheese, egg white. Tasty anyway. :-)

In 32 shots, he only let me get one without his name, and his owner's phone number, featured prominently on the harness!
It took a lot of work to remove the phone number without it looking too obvious and detracting from the image.

I have a picture of Mack and me from last July and a picture of Ella and me taken at the beginning of December, but to my surprise, given that he's my shadow, this is the first picture of Jimmy and me.

Sunrise at Jimmy's fishing pier.
.
A good example that I always default my camera setting at A (Aperture Priority). .
In this sunrise shot, I took the first shot for evaluation on the result of matrix metering and 23 seconds later, Jimmy turn-OFF the neon sign!...end of story here to include the beautiful neon sign into my photo, at least I got one, the only one..... hmm, until next time!.
