Sock got a new toy today and was anxiously waiting for it to be thrown across the room.
Hope everyone is doing well.

We have had a stretch of beautiful sunsets and extremely mild weather lately in Alberta. Being a born and bred Alberta, I know we will pay for this at some point in time!

Photo taken on 6th January 2021 of a Common Lizard basking in the winter sunshine at Whitehead, Northern Ireland. Air temperature only 3-4°C. (Also a second lizard seen 1km away on the coastal path, an hour later.)
Little January
Tapped at my door today.
And said, “Put on your winter wraps,
And come outdoors to play.”
Little January
Is always full of fun;
Until the set of sun.
Little January
Will stay a month with me
And we will have such jolly times
Just come along and see.
– Winifred C. Marshall, January
A bright and frosty start to the day today and it remained clear until sunset. Quite a nice change after all the heavy rain recently.

Alex is Miss January in the Liaisons 2016 Calendar! Come see her and all the other amazing ladies :)
This look that Sock is giving me is his silent pleading to have his toy back.
That's right, I held his piggy hostage to get this shot.
Don't worry, the piggy was returned promptly.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Hot chocolate on a cold winter's day, keeping hands warm, and bellies warmer.
This was the final photo of a slightly rough photo session. Big Girl has a tendency to try too hard. Her expressions are forced, her eye contact is all over the place, and it's really difficult to get the feeling I'm looking for. This time we stopped in the middle, and I had her make funny faces, shake out her cheeks and body and just be silly. It worked, and her expressions softened back up. I thought I was good to go on the shot before this, but then she leaned down a little and began to blow on her chocolate. Magic.

I think it's called suffering for your art...
Today I saw that the sea was wild and decided to pop down to the bottom of the pier (the pier itself was closed) to recreate one of CY's fabulous seascape shots . I stood with my zoom lens poking through the gates and was really quite transfixed by the thumping waves, the acoustics were amazing! I was so transfixed I didn't notice the huge wave coming to my left which jumped the wall and landed on my head! I was soaked to the skin - wish I'd had THAT on camera!
Fortunately the camera and I, though soaked, have lived to tell the tale.
Take flight.
Not the sharpest shot in the world, but the wings were too pretty to pass up on.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Yup; my bookshelves are still a mess. The mess has been changed around a bit, but still, it's a mess. I'd complain, but there's no one to blame but myself so let's just pretend the chaos is intentional and be happy with that.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
