Unfortunately, the sliding effects are missing in the video, since the recorder i use is pretty much useless when it comes to details.
This one-page-website demonstrates the followings:
1 - a very large page (has 12 php includes, lots of images, jquery and 3 other pretty large javascripts) can load very fast even on slow internet connections, if optimized correctly. Everything you can see on the site is loaded instantly when accesing the page, since it's a single-paged website.
2 - you don't need FLASH to create beautiful effects and animations on a given page. You can go even further and create a fully interactive html page, without a single flash element on your website. I never agreed with using Flash for such purposes as creating webpages. Sure it can add a nice effect, but that's just a waste. Flash is so much more than animations..

so, I have extended the site I posted here a couple of days ago. The new version redirects you from each of the categories of the main page (landscape, people and commercial) to an online shop page. I build the online shop page dynamically using php and the Flickr API, loading images from my sets for each category.
The next step in this nice learning experience: paypal integration.

I've been playing around with jQTouch, a jQuery plugin for adding styling and animations to mobile websites for "forward thinking" devices like the iPhone. The idea is to make Mobi easier to theme as well as add some pizzazz. The video above is just my first take and it needs a lot of love. Some points:
- using the default JQT theme
- using onTouchStart/End for the the highlighted icon
- after the site is linked from the homescreen all the normal chrome is taken away.
- it hasn't been tested across a real network
- i'm not a fan of the default header style and i think i'll rework it to be more like the current mobi style
Really curious to get feedback. Let me know what you think!

This is the new layout for my blog. I was trying to break up the typical layout of a blog and condense it a little. It's chocked full of jQuery goodness that hopefully you'll enjoy.
