So this is what I've been playing with tonight - trying to create a module for Drupal so I can add a Phreadz conversation into a Drupal site by just entering the thread ID. Seems to be breaking tho... will post a reply to this & explain

From Flash to jQuery: Reanimating NC State's Homepage

In 2007 NC State University launched a bold redesign of its homepage (ncsu.edu), with an interactive features area. The newly created Office of Web Communications wanted to rebuild the site's popular Flash player while adding much-needed freedom, flexibility, and functionality. Enter jQuery UI tabs and WordPress. The entire features section was rebuilt using WordPress. The new player gives content providers a number of new options simply not available with the previous Flash player. And by moving away from Flash, our readers realize much faster page load times. The simple fact that our content lives in a blog format has also made social sharing very easy, and is a natural fit. Additionally, the primary feature story on our soon-to-launch Facebook page is also managed from the blog.

Assistant Director of Web Communications, North Carolina State University
Luis Chacon started working for North Carolina State University in 2000, initially as a Web developer and project manager for Finance and Business and the Chancellor's Office. After a successful project launch, he transferred to the central Information Technology Division in the Print and Web Publications Office. In 2007, he joined the newly created Office of Web Communications as the Senior Web Developer. The unit promotes consistent brand messaging and marketing-focused content throughout the NC State Web presence and promotes integration of those messages on sites managed by other university departments. He is now the Assistant Director of Web Communications.

A lot of rain is always refreshing. Gotta love the bright and beautiful colours of spring.
I've been learning CSS and HTML5 for the past few days, and now I'm starting jQuery and a little bit of Javascript. It's so intriguing to learn about these things. I've only really done HTML before. I really want to design my own website once I learn bits and pieces of all the different languages.
Marks were okay this semester.
Oh well. Pressing refresh. One more year to go and I'll be done undergrad.
