It was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, after the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon visited that monument.

This sculpture of Jesus embracing two children would seem hokey to some, but I found it sweet. I found this particular sculpture not in a church garden but on someone's front lawn in my hometown of West Caldwell, New Jersey.
