Mademoiselle Jolie:
A long-awaited collector doll is a reality at last!
In 2006 at the "Hi-Fi" convention in Baltimore Maryland, a very special auction took place and a very special doll created just for the occasion was created by Jason Wu and ever since, this elusive and mystical "crown jewel", one of the few hand made one-of-a-kind dolls created by Jason and the team was the talk of the evening. Ever since, fans have been dreaming about this special lady, but since she was never made into a production doll, it made her the stuff of collectible legends!
Since we at the W Club are completely dedicated to our fans and their love of Fashion Royalty, we are proud to introduce your third official 2014 W club doll: the Mademoiselle Jolie first ever production doll from the Fashion Royalty collection and as a W Club member, you get guaranteed access to pre-order this elusive beauty!
When Princess Bon Bon was a teenager, she went clothes shopping with a friend. As she was looking at a cute red dress, a saleswoman told her, "You shouldn't wear that color. It would not be flattering--on you. Red on dark skin is not recommended." The woman smiled as she offered this unwanted advice.
"Not recommended by whom?" Bon Bon asked, turning away as the woman fumbled for an answer. Simultaneously, Bon Bon, took the advice as a challenge. "I wasn't going to buy anything," she thought, "but now I want to buy all the red clothes the store has. I won't be told what I should or shouldn't do just because of the color of my skin."
Though Bon Bon resisted her buying impulse that day, forever after, she made sure to have at least a few red items of clothing in her wardrobe.
Bon Bon: "I like it because it's a color that says you are proud, that you want to be seen, that you are not hiding. I want to represent those feelings. And so, I shall wear red at times. Even when I don't wear that color, I shall still be the same bold person that the color represents for me."

I think she looks gorgeous in the midnight mischief silkstone outfit. I customized her hat with flowers and tulle. OOAK jewels by me.

During the 1960s:
Jean Shrimpton poses in an outfit similar to those worn by Diana Rigg as Emma Peele on the TV spy program "The Avengers." In such a sleek and slinky style, no wonder Mrs. Peele, so adept at martial arts, could fling men to the floor with a swipe of her hand.

Madame Zsa Zsa Nu is the head a a new modeling agency after stepping down as head of Nu Models, which one she had founded and which had long been the most prestigious in the world.
Madame Nu: "It became so boring to know that no one could rival me; so I decided to rival myself! Can NuNu Models make my former agency seem like OldNu Models? Perhaps!"
The first models for the fledgling agency was a group of four girls who had moved together into a Manhattan apartment. They were excited to begin realizing their dreams.
The question was: Would this generation of models tolerate Madame Nu's taxing standards?
Without money and kept in an apartment with a door and windows locked from the outside, as they stared inside the nearly empty refrigerator, what would they do, day after day when Madame Nu's self-proclaimed required "health and beauty plan" was imposed upon them?
Would they be satisfied to be told that when they are hungry, they should satisfy themselves with brushing their teeth and savoring the refreshing flavor of toothpaste and water?
Would they be grateful that when she told them that she would have a scrumptious yet healthy and fruit-filled dessert brought to them, a grocery store delivery man would bring a bag with a pack of sugar-free strawberry bubblegum (with a hand-written note from Madame Nu enclosed which stated, "Don't swallow! Too many calories!")
Would they be happy that when she told them she was having a meal sent to them "filled with healthy greens," the same delivery boy would appear with a container of green Tic-Tacs?
No!
The rebellion took place on a Sunday, three days after the girls arrived, when Madame Nu came to their apartment after a social engagement. It was swift and unyielding.
Katya met her at the door and spoke up on behalf of the group:
"We will not be starved! We are human and we demand to eat. In the words of John Belushi: 'Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger...'"
The other three girls joined in the chant. The sound of "Cheeseburger!" rang so loudly within the apartment it could probably be heard in the streets.
Katya brought Madame Nu's fur to her.
Madame Nu capitulated immediately. As she turned to leave, eyes bright, she said:
"Yes, my girls, I will get you cheeseburgers. Perhaps I have been harsh, thinking that you could live on air, water, and Tic-Tics like Ru-Paul and that I must make you look like toothpicks. You can teach an old dog new tricks. I must learn from you..."

16" Madame Alexander Neo Cissy Bon Bon styled by Jason Wu
Princess Bon Bon has just come to town. She is demanding that I not call her Bon Bon but for now, it is her name. Here, she is modeling jewelry...and skin care...and hair care--to me, she's beautiful enough to do all of that!
She is my final Jason Wu Neo Cissy. She completes my 16" Jason Wu girls.
I love her. Jason Wu has diverse dolls in Integrity Toys; and the two Madame Alexander Black Neo Cissys in his line (the other with pink hair) are very different from each other.
I never thought I would even see a Bon Bon. But someone on eBay was auctioning off all kinds of Madame Alexander items (including my 20" boy, Mr. Cisster) and I found the girl who I thought I would only see on my computer...
Now, Bon Bon will begin her adventures...
While my exact memory of the Jason Wu Gala aka the finale dinner in 2017 is fuzzy details wise I do think it went pretty similarly to this - chatting about his current passions, updating on his inspirations and peeking at his work. I didn't get to speak to him myself but he seems very lovely and it's always cool to me that he continues to make time for the Wclub like this.

During the Late 1950s:
Starlets Diana Dawes (left) and Violet Waters (right) are in London at a movie premiere. While they only have bit parts in the film, they have been advised by their agent to "be seen" and "make a splash." Will their beauty attract the photographers to take their pictures--and newspaper and magazine editors to run them? Only time will tell...

Alex is wearing a 1960s-style outfit that she likes for its sleek look. And though it's from a slightly different time period, for some reason, she keeps thinking of the song "Kung Fu Figting"--maybe because of the outfit's Emma Peel-kick-ass vibe:
"...Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those kicks were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing
There was funky Billy Chin and little Sammy Chung
He said here comes the big boss, let's get it on
We took a bow and made a stand, started swinging with the hand
The sudden motion made me skip now we're into a brand knew trip
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those kicks were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they did it with expert timing
Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on..."
