Fashion sketch by Jason Wu, 2010
The sketch is from inside Out of the Blue's box.
Originally it's a in silvery color on a silvery background with very little contrast. I turned it sepia and added more contrast for better visibility.
Love my new Vanessa! Thank you so much trading partner!
Hope you enjoyed having dinner with us last night. ;)

As expected, main centerpiece doll from convention was Elyse, designed by Jason Wu. This was already announced, so I suppose that did take away a bit of excitement. But, not for me! This is one of my top 5 sculpts and since I do not have Elyse with this screening she was a must for me.
Makeup/Hairstyle - have to be honest here, I was a bit nervous about blue eyeshadow... Convention goers told me that it looks too harsh and overwhelming. In person, it looks just fine, it isn't any brighter than any other makeup color of the dolls I have. She looks fresh, youthful, sexy and exotic. It is quite expecting from Wu's Elyse. In fact, it seems that is the reason why I like this Elyse so much! Her lips are perfect color of red. It isn't orangy or too dark red, it goes perfect with her eyes. Now, blue eyes seemed strange choice for me when I fist saw her, but in person they look quite radiating and beautiful. They are not overwhelmed by eyeshadow at all. She has the same screening as anniversary Bergdorf Elyses. What I miss here are those small lines under the eyes that Bergdorf Elyse (blonde with black skirt and golden top) had. But, maybe I am just too demanding... 9.5/10
Outfit/Accessories - this is one of Wu's looks from S/S fashion show, hence the name. IMO the dress looks better on doll than on the model. I think Wu did a great job translating this look to doll size. The dress opens on front, so she can show a bit her legs, as I said she looks quite seducing for Elyse. The dress closes with zipper and fitting is great. My vote always goes for zippers on dresses. The embroidery looks very well done, I wouldn't change anything. This Elyse comes with never seen before earrings. Myyyy they are gorgeous! They look very designer, like Cartier or something, I am glad Jason included them here. Her bangs are pulled to the sides in order to showcase these lovely earrings. Each earring is different, one has pearls and the other bigger crystals. This might be my favorite pair of earrings and I think I have all molds of FR and NuFace earrings. The sandals are just fine. They could have been better. At least the strings do not fall down as this Elyse has 'velvet' touch skin, so they stick to it. Because of the shoes 9/10.
Execution/Quality issues - As I mentioned this Elyse, like all anniversary Elyses comes with velvet skin. It looks very good in hand. I have one Lovetones doll that has the same feature and IMO 'skin' on this Elyse looks better. The head is perfect match with body, it is regular plastic, which is understandable (in case you want to rebody her). It seems there is a bit of hair product on her face, so it might look glossier than it actually is. There is always a possibility that some pulls when it comes to items with embroidery, but I do not see anything similar on my dress. 10/10
Overall, this is one very beautiful, high quality Elyse. If you like bright colors on makeup and outfit, like I do, than she is definitely for you. I got mine the moment she was revealed, paid much higher price than the price she retails currently. IMO she is way underpriced, I guess her editions size - 700 pieces is one of the reasions for that. But, I think she will pick up on popularity as soon as everyone sees how gorg she looks when redressed. 9/10
I have decided to enjoy the dolls I have in my collection more... This is a new year's resolution!
My beautiful raven AFL Vanessa is modeling a Dressmaker details outfit and jewelry by me. Jewelry set will be available on ebay later today.

I think she is my favorite Agnes and my favorite of all from the convention. Her coloring is just lovely.

The documentary will feature his career in designing dolls. Also, next year’s convention will be in Baltimore.
Just after the Legendary Convention, I mean the day after it was finished, was announced the brand new doll made by Jason Wu for the 20th Anniversary of Net A porter ... I was so not happy about this as how would I explain to my husband that I need, again, to spend hundreds of dollars for just one doll when I already spent so much during 3 days for many dolls ... So I decided not to care about her ... and didn't see that one of my friends tried to contact me at 6 am to tell me the doll was live on the NAP website ... so I missed her, of course ... So I tried to find her all the flaws I could ... she has too much attitude, her eye make up is too much, her lipstick is too dark ... well, now she was too expensive to get anyway ... so I tried no to care about it, again ... and then I saw pictures of her, again, and again ... and that dress, and those shoes ... well, I really wanted to get them for my Merveilleuse Agnes if I couldn't get the whole package ... and luckily I found the outfit + the accessories for a reasonable price, I really think that was a bargain, so my doll is very happy, I'm very happy ... end of the story ... pictures will follow when the sun will decide to show up a little ...

12" Jason Wu Fashion Forward doll
Chrissy Teigen looks glamorous at a political fundraising event in Los Angeles. Chrissy is a woman of action: though some people only think of her as a fashion model and Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover girl, she has written a best-selling cookbook, "Cravings," been a food stylist for a TV show, and co-hosted a show, in addition to being a wife and mother.
In June, she attended a protest against the Family Separation Policy: "Under the policy, federal authorities separated children from their parents, relatives, or other adults who accompanied them in crossing the border, whether apprehended during an illegal crossing or, in numerous reported cases, legally presenting themselves for asylum" (Wikipedia), The policy was halted by a Federal Judge. Before then, Chrissy had already taken a stand.
*This doll is not marketed as Chrissy Teigen but I think she looks so much like her, Chrissy must have been an inspiration.
First Lady Michelle Obama formally presented the gown she wore to the 2009 inaugural balls to the Smithsonian’s First Ladies Collection Tuesday, March 9, 2010, during a ceremony at the National Museum of American History. The gown is displayed in the center of a new gallery addition to the museum’s popular exhibition, “The First Ladies at the Smithsonian.”
The one-shouldered, white-silk chiffon gown, created by designer Jason Wu, is embellished with organza flowers with Swarovski crystal centers.
