Camouflaged Italian! I collected my car today. It's a 1980 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 that I've owned for 30 years this month. She's still immaculate and always makes me smile :-) Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Thursday, February 4, 2016.

The famous Brionvega: I used to have one of these tv sets at home when I was a child - and I used it to watch tv.
Who would've thought that one day (now) they would have made such an impression and I'd end up taking pics of it at a design exhibition? Wonderful design, one of the best object ever designed.
A lane of statues leads to the Palazzo Pfanner in Lucca, Italy
With its lawns, its ornamental flowers, forest plants, and earthenware pots of lemons that accompany the monumental string of 18th century statues depicting the deities of Greek Olympus and the Four Seasons, the Palazzo Pfanner garden, ascribed to the genius of Filippo Juvarra, represents an excellent example of a baroque garden laid out in the heart of medieval Lucca.

This is the very long and beautiful undercover platform at Albury Station, Victoria, Australia. I believe it is the longest undercover platform in the Southern Hemisphere. The Italian design and architecture make this a worthwhile visit and a walk along the long platform to view its Victorian design. I also have a photo of the front of the Albury Station building in my gallery "Buildings". THE FINE ART AMERICA LOGO WILL NOT APPEAR ON PURCHASED PRINTS OR PRODUCTS.

Albury railway station is located on the New South Wales/Victorian border city of Albury. Designed and constructed under the supervision of John Whitton, it opened on 26 February 1882, replacing a temporary structure, which opened on 3 February 1881, when the Main South line was extended from Gerogery. The premiers of both New South Wales and Victoria attended the official opening of the 1881 station, marking the first time in Australian history that two colonial premiers had appeared together publicly.

The main article in Progress Spring 1959, the Unilever house magazine, is on Italian Industrial Design and the covers are by the well-known Italian artist and designer Eugenio Carmi. They depict a collage of objects at a time when the standard of industrial design in Italy was highly regarded.

Is it the financial crisis or are new times coming for style lovers in Amsterdam's most expensive shopping street?
At the beginning of the year 2014 this 1975 DAF 46 amidst the world of luxury brands is a statement in itself. Just get rid of those luxury cars, re-introduce this sober Dutch automobile that does not deny its international origin by any chance: the Italian Michelotti design. He is easily beats the "seductive design" of the Jaguar XJ with its "intuitive technology and exhilarating performance" that costs probably fifty times more than these four wheels that rolled out of the Dutch DAF factory in 1975 located in the Dutch town of Born, the very same factory that produces the famous Mini models for BMW.
