This shot shows the main concourse of the Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station, inaugurated in 1935. Designed by the Gruppo Toscano under the leadership of architect Giovanni Michelucci, the building is considered one of the finest examples of Italian Rationalist architecture. The structure stands out for its use of local materials such as Pietra Forte and the large sloped glass skylight that illuminates the entire passenger hall. On the right wall, the original marble lettering indicating the Waiting Room ("Sala di Attesa") is still visible, topped by a series of vintage photographic panels displaying the landscapes and cities of Italy

A shop displaying a symbol of Italian coffee, Bialetti moka pots. Simple yet effective, lightweight yet sturdy, old-fashioned yet stylish, the moka pot remains unchanged, but nowadays has many fun designs. There’s a collaboration with D&G in white and blue, as well as a Bridgerton-inspired edition. I brought home a black one with "Venezia" written on it.

This Ducati Panigale V4S stands on a sunlit terrace against a backdrop of rural landscape and a simple wire fence – a visual contrast to the bike’s cutting-edge engineering. Notable features include the semi-active Öhlins suspension, aerodynamic winglets, and the high-revving Desmodromic V4 engine. A dynamic icon from Borgo Panigale – built for speed, precision, and unmistakable style.

Italian box camera,

When I gaze at the facades of old buildings, I’m always filled with a subtle sense of a mysterious, almost tangible history. What have they witnessed, how many families once lived there? How many secrets do these walls keep? How much happiness, drama, love, and suffering is hidden behind those stone facades?

In moments like these, you feel your own insignificance especially sharply — as if you were a grain of sand in the vast desert of time. And somewhere, decades from now, someone else will be sitting in front of these same facades, having the same thoughts and drowning in similar feelings.

_________

October 2018, visiting San Remo, Italy. Highly Recommended. It is beautiful and fascinating at the same time to visit this gorgeous city by the sea.

Special body design by GHIA, Italy.

Three units in the Supersonic style were made on Jaguar XK120 chassis by GHIA.

Another one was built in fiberglass on an Aston Martin chassis, while several FIAT 8V and an Alfa Romeo were also fitted with this type of body.

This example has a V6 engine equipped with three Weber carburetors. The otuput is 220 HP. All the bodies were hand made in aluminium.

This example has different details than the other blue one sold in France. The third unit was white and sold in Switzerland. There is no sign of its existence to this date. We can still see the original license plate of Paris.

Photographed in December 2025 at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal (MMFA), this vibrant red lounge chair is Gaetano Pesce's iconic "Up" (1969), made from flexible polyurethane foam. Part of the museum's decorative arts and design collection, the piece's organic, bulbous forms deliberately evoke the female body—curves resembling breasts and hips—while commenting on sensuality, comfort, and 1960s radical design. Displayed near other experimental furniture, it stands out as a playful yet provocative icon of Italian radical design, produced by B&B Italia. A bold, tactile work that's both seat and statement.
