I'm sorry if I don't reply to all the comments and message, but these days were really hard for me.
I know that the bad periods will pass away, but in the meanwhile all the things seems too heavy and dark.
This mobile project is a diary about this year so I also need a witness for this dark period. And this is what I feel.
"Mother I tried please believe me,
I'm doing the best that I can."
Every drop counts...
Utata Stays Home project: Isolation Diary asks for a day to be documented. I took images on several days to capture the actual experience of one day.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. - Melody Beattie
'Isolation Still Life Series' ‘Sheet’ April 2nd 2020. I am taking the opportunity to make some still lives while isolating at home during the Covid-19 outbreak. A form of photographic diary; this work attempts to reflect our shared sense of uncertainty and alienation. Representing a fresh familiarity with the domestic, and the revelatory appearance of objects we live with daily; which have taken on a metaphorical weight they seemed to lack before. Shot on 4x5 sheet film and processed at home.

Standing on cold and windy bridges is a thing of the past ... for now anyway .... and rightly so. So a little man-cave trainspotting at Dairybeck and Holcoates with a 60's flavour.
Subject Isolation Practice: Outfit inspired flash practice session. Using a single softbox for general lighting, a snoot for face highlighting, and then a blue gel on a reflector with barnbox for hair lighting.
Being alone is when my mind just goes wild. If I'm in any pain from my Sickle Cell things can get bad quickly.
More and more I'm forgetting things like where I am, who I am and who my friends are. My pain crisis last longer and are more frequent.. I've never had anxiety before but it gets so bad I can't control my breathing. I get dizzy and often times I fall.
The stress of being sick and alone is truly getting to me.

My lost thing is well... Lost. It doesn't know where to go, isolation or civilization.
This was another shot for my project with the hearts motif. This one represented isolation and how he still loves...instead of movng on and putting his heart back out into the world hes hanging on to the love he has right now even though there are evident problems in the relationship.
In exchange for some incredibly longs days in the summer here in Iceland, they pay the price in the winter, thats for sure. I'm guessing that hibernating like a bear might be one option for dealing with these long dark days.
While trekking about this incredible landscape in my rental car, I couldn't help but imagine what I was doing to the undercarriage of this vehicle.....I mean, I did everything but trash this poor little thing!
