Loved the water reflections in the loch at this lonely home on the Shieldaig peninsula, which can only be accessed by a track through the moor or from the loch.

What a weird and terrifying year so far! After seemingly endless weeks of bad weather and one cold after the next we now face probably the worst crisis in my lifetime. I have not been very active with photography in the past weeks (mainly due to not going out much) and now that we are under lockdown there won't be many new photos - at least not landscapes!
I took this one last Sunday when we took the opportunity to finally go outdoors again to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air - I did not expect this to be the last day outdoors for the foreseeable future!
This was a lonely Hawthorne tree somewhere around Belstone tor.
Take care, stay safe and stay at home!
Just me and the Gull. On The Beach at Duck, NC. Have a great weekend Everybody. Yes I realize the horizon has a decided tilt.
While in Scotland on holiday we had a drive up the Northeast coast to John O'Groats .On our way back we drove across the top of Scotland to a place called Tongue then head back over the Northwest Highlands to Cullen ....not much less that a 400mile round trip.....as we came over the Highlands the clouds came down and it started to rain ......driving on single track roads made for a very interesting drive .About halfway down the highlands i saw this cottage (no-one living there) its isolation just made it stand out ...just had to stop and get a few shots
A long exposure, landscape image of the rocks on the coastline near Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.
This isn't a sim you can actually describe or make out whats going on but it is stunning and a place you have to see with your own eyes,
..Alone but not lonely...
Our honourable PM has requested us to observe 14 hrs self imposed curfew tomorrow (Sunday March 22,2020) to break the virus chain as we enter stage 3... and that's exactly what we all plan to do tomorrow... It's the need of the hour....
I am really looking forward to tomorrow ... a slow relaxed lazy sunday at home with family ... I already love it ...
So.. stay indoors, stay safe and break the chain and have a relaxed weekend.
That moment of near silence.....
It is disturbed by a gentle ripple chasing endlessly along the water's edge...
Not hunting nor the hunted.
But Ripple it does
Working away on my book ISOlation and trying to decide on images, I feel this one has to be included. So far 147 images and 100 pages! This was supposed to be a small zine 😬 Crosby in and around those lockdown times. #ISOlation #bookmaking #lockdown #photography @UKNikon
Many of us have done that, mentally that is, even before Corona-Virus popped up. Treating the thoughts of 'the other' like a virus and being eager to self-inoculate us against ideas declared to be 'alien', is the unfortunate result of a narrowing of the mind. And I have not even begun to contemplate the historical record of people themselves being identified with the virus.

The main Assynt mountains are unique in that they stand in isolation from each other and are surrounded by a network of lochs, lochans, rivers and wild, largely pathless, ground.
Visible here (beyond the lochs) L to R are Suilven, Cul Mor, Cul Beag (summit in cloud) and Stac Pollaidh, which is seen from its other (southern) side in the previous upload. The lower slopes of Canisp can also be seen disappearing behind the right-hand edge of Suilven.
I was fortunate to arrive at this location during one of the few clear periods of the day. Even so a(n almost) clear view of the whole of Suilven was a rarity.
