A tiny watch cog casting a sundial like shadow. Wanted to portray singular isolation, but together we’ll get through this!

Love it when the shadow theme comes round, it was the 1st theme I shot an MM photo for many years back!

(The cog is approx 4mm thus well within the size guide)

HMM!

Since Isolation, I have the whole beach by myself.

Sheep's Head Peninsula Co Cork Ireland.

Thank you for your visit I hope you enjoy.

This is a Tabaiba bush (Euphorbia balsamifera) that is distributed from the Arabian Peninsula to Sahara and the Canary Islands. This one is from Tenerife.

The small bush has only few leaves which are sesonal and disappear during the long and dry summers. It has a single yellow flower at the end of its many stems. The plant is popular due to its latex. Its sap was used as a natural glue or as a chewing gum to clean the teeth.

If you look carefully you can see The Red Cottage in a very remote part of Glen Dee in the Scottish Highlands, which is now being renovated to a Bothy. It is miles from anywhere in this desolate landscape, remote from anyone and anything.

Macro Mondays theme In Ice

A simple image of a frozen snow drop.

I experimented with various ideas until I gave I up. The trouble with ice is that it has a tendency to melt and by the time you get to a subject or composition that you like it's all over and gone.

After a few days of messing around and sad news coming in that my Godmother had been taken gravely ill with the virus, I found this solitary snow drop that I had frozen last week. It seemed quite apt under the circumstances.

This photo is dedicated to all those who have lost loved ones to this awful virus.

Another on the theme of social isolation during lockdown. This shot was taken last November in Lanzarote. Oh to be there now!!!!

Back from the cottage gentrification project ready for the season and our isolation oasis I hope that you enjoy the continuation of my re-edit visit to the Netherlands from fall 2017 to continue on unabated until arriving in Amsterdam for my final post in the series.

Thanks for all the supportive comments on this Dutch Masters process development and those that just like to have something trying to be a little distracting in their feed other than today’s current events,

my goal is to hopefully trigger a memory or the want of a memory of someplace you would like to be.

As mentioned before my short break, Delft is where we will pick up my reverse chronological order Dutch revisit, captured here is what I thought to be Vermeer’s corner but now upon some reflection realize it is not his view but it is a view of Delft just the same and not a bad one.

Delft is an easy day trip from almost any location in the Netherlands making it an excellent day trip, the core is easily walkable, chock full of historic treasures, wonderful shops, warm cafes and beautiful views and should not be missed.

I took this on Sept 17th, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 58mm 1/40s, f/16 ISO 100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , Luminar and DXO

Disclaimer: My style is a study of romantic realism as well as a work in progress

Lyrics (Wave by Beck)

"I move away from this place

In the form of a disturbance

And enter into the world

Like some tiny distortion

If I surrender

And I don't fight this wave

I won't go under

I'll only get carried away

Wave

There are people who take a folding chair, a thermos of coffee and cake to the dike and can wander for hours into the distance. If wild geese disturb the peace, it is also a welcome change.

The last time I saw these guys was days before lockdown.

A lot has changed during the ensuing months and I hope this pic is a portent of better things to come.

Each winter I try to drive past this old vacant garage on a cold, blustery winter day as its lonesomeness is emphasized. It is a unique time in life when we reach an age when many of our peers begin to leave this planet. Our once large circle of family, friends and acquaintances begins slowly to dwindle and then accelerates with every passing year. The isolation that faces those whose partners have departed becomes one of life's greatest challenges.

A cobalt steely sundown looking towards Edinburgh with the distant Pentland hills still bearing their mantle of recent snowstorms

Taken at the entrance to the Oculus in 2016. It struck me at the time to take this rare photo in NYC with someone alone in a public space. Who knew how prophetic this scene would be.

thanks ALEC1097 for the title.

Well, here we are, still in the garden. Chin up, it could be worse. Stay home, stay safe.
