A fog bank hangs over Bear Lake, Idaho just off the end of a boat dock. The slightly diagonal line that looks like a shoreline is actually the edge of the fog.

This photo was taken just a few feet away, and 90 degrees from the previous photo of Bear Lake.

winter's design over lake superior-

my first attempt at monochrome:)

I was walking in downtown Austin on the last day of the celebration for the F1 race. There were lots of festivities and promotional events and I thought this young lady walking around in a plastic bubble was pretty interesting.

Like multitudes of my fellow voluntary shut-ins, I have been finding alternative projects to use my time. Locked in an apartment makes me yearn for a return to the days of having a garden in which I could mow lawns and weed vegetable beds (incurring insect bites and sunburn!). Today I have re-edited an old jpg in two styles, using Luminar 4. One uses sky replacement and the other has a texture overlay and some little additions via sky augmentation.

Busselton Jetty is a well known landmark of Western Australia's Margaret River region. Stretching 1841 metres out into Geographe Bay, it is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.

With the last fortnight being the hottest for years something had to give, that was the clouds of course so for a photographer it's slightly less atmospheric. You can imagine my excitement as i rushed towards the coast at a sight of clouds. I decided to take a detour from my normal area and focus on a much quieter, harder to reach area... so i saw the fruits of my work when i stumbled across this isolated patch of flowers (not too sure what they are), these make for a great foreground with the backdrop of the out of focus moon and the heritage cliffs of South Wales.

going to be a long winter....

Unless society can adapt itsbehaviour sufficiently for a short period of time, the COVID problems will only continue.

Plaça dels Angels, Barcelona. In tyhe middle of a major viral outbreak. Because of the failure to block viral transmission and the failure to implement and deploy functional track-and-trace, this winter is going to be far far bleaker than it needs to be.

Colourful easter eggs in B&W. Imagine the vibrant red green and purple. :)

"In fear every day, every evening,

he calls her aloud from above.

Carefully watched for a reason,

painstaking devotion and love.

Surrendered to self preservation,

from others who care for themselves.

A blindness that touches perfection,

but hurts just like anything else.

Isolation, isolation, isolation....

But if you could just see the beauty,

these things I could never describe,

these pleasures a wayward distraction,

this is my one lucky prize:

Isolation, isolation, isolation...."

Isolation is tough.... No friends around to play...

Totally isolated Black Mesa and Lake Powell acts as a steel railed conveyor belt hustling coal across northern Arizona. Here an empty man returns to the mine crossing one of the many fills along the line and a rather interesting underpass.

Stopped down, this shot gives you an idea of how the lens can be used to isolate people down a chosen plane of focus.

I've just posted a YouTube video of this lens if you're interested, here:

Here is a thought provoking image, make of what you will, I have no idea but hope this does not offend anyone.

It was in a dark part of the quarry works at Clee Hill (Titterstone Hill) among the old concrete buildings that used to process rock and stone products.

Besides being alone and human contact is very minimal, there's the fact that I'm sick with further isolates me. In turn all of this has taken a huge toll on my overall health and wellness, most importantly my mental health.

We've made everything, absolutely everything, about Covid and have not truly considered the consequence of folks already dealing with pre-existing conditions.
