Belvedere Giacomo Puccini with view over Lago Massaciuccoli
The Villa Puccini is in our back.
Torre del Lago, Tuscany, Italy
"[...] From 1891 onwards, [Giacomo] Puccini spent most of his time, when not traveling on business, at Torre del Lago, a small community about fifteen miles from Lucca situated between the Ligurian Sea and Lake Massaciuccoli, just south of Viareggio. Torre del Lago was the primary place for Puccini to indulge his love of hunting. "I love hunting, I love cars: and for these things, in the isolation of Torre del Lago, I keep the faith." ("Amo la caccia, adoro l'automobile: e a questo e a quella nelle solitudini di Torre del Lago serbo intera la mia fede.")
By 1900, he had acquired land and built a villa on the lake, now known as the "Villa Puccini". He lived there until 1921, when pollution produced by peat works on the lake forced him to move to Viareggio, a few kilometres north. After his death, a mausoleum was created in the Villa Puccini and the composer is buried there in the chapel, along with his wife and son who died later.
The Villa Museo was owned by his granddaughter, Simonetta Puccini, until her death, and is open to the public. An annual Festival Puccini is held at Torre del Lago. [...]" (Wikipedia)

What ought we build in our time?
Loneliness is Pain.

So let me hide

A Nation turns its lonely eyes to you ..."

This image is somewhat of a bonus for me as the visit here was a total washout, literally, I've posted another image from here a few days later earlier on my stream as I thought it was the only one I had managed to get, the weather was dry but the tide was out... This image is pretty much what I was after originally, this day it absolutely poured down and I ended up waiting in the rain with the camera covered with a waterproof backpack cover, just hoping for a break in the rain, getting soaked in the process... when I had checked my files I hadn't managed to get anything not ruined by the rain, such is life...
Oddly though when checking the images from that trip day a few files had somehow been mixed up and put right to the end of the folder out of sequence, this being one of them, not a clue why or how but I was made up to find this long exposure image with no rain spots and a lot of nice dark cloud movement during the bad weather, a bit of a phoenix from the ashes....
This is the remains of Hawkcraig Pier, Aberdour, Fife, looking out towards Inchcolm Island and behind that the Lothian coastine towards Edinburgh, after such a frustrating day weather wise I'm made up to have actually got something from it, even more so as I didn't think I had originally.
Perch Rock Lighthouse New Brighton Wirral - 15.09.2017 . These were taken on the Beach at New Brighton ,I wanted to show the expance of sand which was blowing in my face all the time, thats why no one else was on the beach, I have never seen it like that before there, don't forget the Mersey Covers it every day twice . Perch Rock Lighthouse New Brighton Wirral - 15.09.2017 That beach was special on Thursday and was almost better than seeing the birds as the Gale force winds over the last week had cleaned and dried the sand . I cannot remember ever seeing this shot taken of this popular photographic spot. Best to view full screen if you can.
