Cat on a fence. The cat may be long gone but the claw marks remain

Isolation In Desolation, the famous cottage near the summit of Hartside Pass on the way to Alston. I have passed this place many a time, never really working out the best way to photograph the cottage. Going through a black and white phase i realised within this landscape, a mono shot was best.

Away from the Madding Crowds.......Nothing but fields and trees....

A slight re-work of 'The Frosted Tree'. Slight crop change and upped the contrast.

self inflicted...I couldn't help wondering where it came from, how it got there, if it was the tip of a bigger mass.

I wanted to get closer to this barn but I wasn't about to hike through 3 feet of snow to get there. Where's my zoom lens when I need it! :-)

I edit my photos quite a lot, with the original often just serving as a foundation for the final result.

I’ve always avoided discussions about the "definition" of photography. To be honest, I don’t see the point in it. While there are certainly qualitative aspects to consider, I believe they are not tied to specific stylistic choices. I do appreciate a more documentary approach from time to time, which involves little to no editing. But in my own work, I aim to create an atmosphere (whatever that may mean) and don't care even a little to reflect what I actually saw on that day.

I see my photography as being closer to painting. Exploring my own creative potential and developing my own perspective are the things that guide me. Any attempt at "definition" only distracts.

so much love for this.

Waited awhile for someone to play the piano under this bridge, thank you stranger.
