Into an isolated downpour! This was along I-680 SB around Pleasanton\Sunol, CA. The deluge lasted only a few short minutes and as fast as it started, it dissipated instantly. Gotta love this weather! (Footage taken Thursday, ‎February ‎1, ‎2024)
*Weather update: An atmospheric river had pushed into the San Francisco Bay Area. This system was expected to deliver a stormy combination of downpours & powerful winds. This weather system was a classic atmospheric river, drawing moisture from the subtropics across the Pacific Ocean. These systems can sometimes stall over land & dump copious amounts of rain over prolonged periods, causing flooding. Wind was one of the biggest concerns with this particular storm with gusts up to 45 mph possible. While prevailing, typical winds in the Bay Area normally blow in a northerly to northwesterly direction, this storm was expected to kick up strong southerly winds. These winds definitely tested things that aren’t accustomed to the southerly flow. Downed trees were likely amid the blustery conditions and the already saturated soil... An even stronger storm was on the way by the weekend. Looks like we were finally feeling the effects of El Niño! Stay safe out there, folks!

Times are rely changing, for 50 years ago the churches was full of people on Sundays. Nowadays they hardly is open once a month and then there are very few visitors. Some churches even are sold to private persons or demolished.

Totally misty under the clouds and
so numb beside the air, I am
isolated in a crowd of spectators.
I don't think that being younger, more affluent or dwelling in a denser area makes you less alone. Take for instance these people, myself included, sitting in Borders, Melbourne Central.
But maybe the biggest difference is that we (generally) are isolated by choice.
Should be seen in context of each other: Isolated, Detached, Separated.
