Chris, my dad, and I went for a ride along the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail and the Root River State Trail. We rode from Preston to Lanesboro (I think), where we had a rest at a bar and then returned. Very beautiful trail and scenery. I just wish it actually connected to more destinations closer to the cities, rather than being all isolated out in the middle of rural SE Minnesota.

I've only seen this church as we go scooting by on the freeway. It's in an isolated spot & I often wonder about why it's there. I'm guessing it dates to the 1860-70s. The only reason I can think of for it's existence is that it is on the road halfway between Melbourne and the Ballarat gold fields. I wonder if it was there to give succour to those heading to the fields or entice donations from those returning to Melbourne.
