I don't think that being younger, more affluent or dwelling in a denser area makes you less alone. Take for instance these people, myself included, sitting in Borders, Melbourne Central.
But maybe the biggest difference is that we (generally) are isolated by choice.
Should be seen in context of each other: Isolated, Detached, Separated.

I took this shot while visiting the Getty Center in California. I was walking around when I noticed this man sitting alone the interior pool court.
This picture was taken in May 2018 at my home in Sneads Ferry, NC. It is where my backyard holds water after heavy rainfall. I thought this was significant as it retains this water for a much longer duration than the other flooded areas. After heavy rain, this isolated wetland remained this way for about 5 days. The Wetland Communities and Delineation laboratory illustrated that isolated wetlands can serve as a reservoir. I believe this is an isolated wetland, as it holds the rain water so the rest of my property doesn’t flood. It also aids in filtration and helps minimize heavy mineral deposits, which is beneficial for me as my running water is from a water well system. It is also a hotspot for different animal species in the area to accumulate for drinking water and to forage for various insects and bugs that are also attracted to it. Throughout the years of living here, I have seen a variety of wildlife ranging from wild turkey to foxes, and even what appeared to be a bobcat. Various animal species seem to be drawn to this specific spot. I can only assume that isolated wetlands like this one, may be influential in this locations species richness.

The emulsion on this one is Ilford Delta 3200 and it was shot at ISO 3200 on my Nikon F3.
The frame was scanned with an Epson Perfection V750 using the Epson Scan software.

Photoshop manipulation of a few glass splash images. Do you know they make black food coloring? I had to add an increasing amount to each shot to show the amount of increasing disorder.
The octagon was tricky to add in Photoshop -- new learning experience for me.
