In the middle of Sapporo is Odori-koen, an eleven-block-long park. This piece of public sculpture by Isamu Noguchi doubles as a slide for children to play on.

The fountain's illumination is not quite this purply in reality, but my camera's light settings made it look that way and I liked it too much to change them.

Looked exactly like granite until you got right up to it and saw that it was very thin and had steel supports in the back. Actually made of fiberglass and polyester.
