Another view of recent glow from the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) captured from 36 degrees Sth latitude. The Milky Way has risen commandingly on the left, while on the right the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds are descending, just beyond the South Celestial Pole. The auroral glow has subsided since an earlier image, but with improved atmospheric "seeing" it could just be discerned with averted vision.

Most Fridays I take the opportunity to catch ths sunset and clear out the weeks madness. Sometimes Ma Nature puts on a show ... and sometimes she just keeps me company.
Two frames ,raw developed in Lightroom 6.14, stacked and masked in Affinity Photo and tweaked with DxO Collection and ON1 Photo Raw 2021.
Shot with Pentax K1 and Irix 15/2.4 with Irix ND32 filter.

A frame from my trip to Hyde Mill back in May. I knew the milky way was going to be up later at night but checked Photopills to verify and figure out exactly what time. This is actually a single frame from my timelapse that I took. I have a couple small Lume Panels behind me that's lighting the scene. Even though there's some light pollution from some near by towns it's still pretty dark there.
