Bryggen (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈbryɡːen], English: The Dock), also known as Tyskebryggen (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈtʏskəˌbryɡːen], English: The German Dock), is a series of wooden buildings that line the eastern side of the Vågen harbour in the city of Bergen, Norway. Bryggen is one of the best-preserved examples of a Hanseatic city, and it has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979.

The Hanseatic League was a powerful trading alliance of merchants from northern Germany and the Baltic region. The league's Bergen Kontor (office) was established in Bryggen in 1350, and it became the center of Hanseatic trade in Norway. The Hanseatic merchants played a major role in the development of Bergen, and they helped to make it one of the most important trading cities in Northern Europe.

Bryggen was ravaged by a series of fires between the 14th and the 18th centuries, and many of the original wooden buildings were destroyed. However, the city has always rebuilt Bryggen in its traditional style, and the area is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

With a policeman watching on, one of the new set-ups for this year's Goodwood Revival. It was very much like a film set and worked well.

Heaven's Spotlight - Day 52 of 365 Photo Challenge - February 21, 2023

Waiting quietly in the pit lane at Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit was this stunning McLaren which also sounded as good as it looked and was really having a super time going round the track. Image taken using a substantial carbon-fibre monopod with a BeastGrip cage for a mobile. iPhone 13 Pro Max inside the BeastGrip cage. Image taken in RAW and processed in LightRoom Classic, colour popped the car and desaturated the tarmac of the pit lane.

Formula 1 car based but hybrid electric track based with over 900 horsepower, the electric motor covering for any turbo lag.

Image taken at Goodwood Sports Purpose Trackday.

Stunning looks too, standing qtr mile is just 10 seconds, 0-62 in 2.8 seconds top speed electronically limited to 217 mph apparently. I want one now !!!

More photos from my flights to Oakland CA for a performance, masterclass, and recording. All within 24 hrs.

Fabulous backdrop of the King Edward II in the background, smoke effects from Timeline for realism and the lady fire eater in her amazing outfit. Fairly low light but my iPhone 13 Pro Max was on a light weight tripod and coped really well.

Image info :- ISO 640, 1/35th shutter, on 1 x lens f/1.5 , triggered by Camkix remote control unit.

An art installation that is a giant size sink plug, the balls seen here are part of the chain used to pull the plug out.

This is probably 2-3 feet across.

Very pleased that this panorama turned out OK given the extreme winds and rain encountered during the process of capturing this coastal scene.

Like all my panoramas this image was taken hand held but with my relatively new IPhone 13 Pro Max.

Getting the horizon straight in such conditions can be very difficult and it's often necessary to take several shots before a satisfactory result is achieved.

If you don't get it right in the time you have at a place then another opportunity to revisit can often be many years away, if ever, so it's worth persevering.

The tripod had to get used at some point and the waves and spray put me off using a DSLR here so I used my iPhone 13 Pro Max with ReeXpose App to do a long exposure image.

Two minute exposure.

The subject is Cromer Pier on a windy day. Processed the image in Lightroom Classic and converted to black and white in NIK Collection Silver EFEX Pro 2.

It was Ava's birthday today and someone bought her some flavoured "Lipgloss" and so Pops had to wear some too although I cant remember what flavour it was.
