This morning I have mainly been concreting 💪
This is the base for a new shed that I’m going to start building, in a couple of weeks.
It took 3.5 tonnes of crusher run hardcore, and 3.2 cu M of concrete.
I had the concrete arrive by a system called ‘Barrow mix’, whereby the concrete arrives mixed and the barrow mix people wheelbarrow the concrete to the location, then we lay it… (I actually jumped on the wheelbarrow work too!)
They were due to arrive at 8.00 this morning, they arrived at 7.45 😀
My father in law and myself laid the concrete today, and we sorted the hardcore and damp proof membrane (DPM) yesterday .
Fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain !

Early Morning Playtime With Neo, My Brother's German Shepherd Puppy (360°x360° VR) - IMRAN™
(My 126th Flickr Explore!)
During my recent trip to Pakistan, I spent some time at my younger brother's home in the Sukh Chayn Gardens area of Lahore. This was the morning after our niece's wedding. It was relatively early in the morning, when I came out to play with his one year old very active German Shepherd puppy. I captured about 2 dozen pics with the iPhone and stitched them together in Lightroom for a quick panorama 360x360. You can see Neo doing his zoomies run in this action moment I captured him in.

The flower was a gift from a friend & neighbour for my wife, on her birthday!
It’s located in our front room.
Happy September everybody!

Frankfurt Opera House with a minute long exposure time ensured that anyone crossing if front of me would vanish as long as they kept moving. iPhone ReeXpose App used.
But apart from the cyclist looking on his phone for guidance the foreground was empty, which is what I wanted. A couple of ghosts standing on the steps on the left hand side, adds to the mystery.
Capture time: 00:01:00, aperture f/1.8, focal length 1.6mm, ISO 100, iPhone 13 Pro Max on a tripod. Processed in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop rel 24.

Birds eye view over the pit lane of this brightly coloured Martini Porsche. One of the nicely turned out cars that was "going for it" on the track with a beautiful sounding exhaust.

Ford built prototype Lotus Anglias, this one has lotus badges around but I did not get to see inside the bonnet.
It is registered as 1198cc and dates from 1965 and looks a wonderful Anglia. Who doesn’t remember these!!
Most gorgeous looking Lotus Emira Mk 1 fresh off the production line and drop dead looks from any angle. Retail price around £70,000 depending on engine type and specifications.
For the egg painting competition at Emily’s (our niece) nursery
The Easter eggs had to be in by today…
The results are tomorrow.
Her Dad also entered an Easter egg in the adult competition.

To get into the stadium
It was well worth the wait. Burnley were up for it from the outset. A fabulous 1-0 win for the Clarets. Thoroughly enjoyed by the fans!! 👍👍
I’m proud of the team 🌟

Using the railings to hold monopod steady this is another 30 second ReeHeld long exposure of the River Thames and Eton Bridge in the distance.
Taken on iPhone 13 Pro Max and processed in Lightroom Classic and then a couple of filters added in Photoshop - Orton Sharp effect and Vivid 1 filter in ProPanel to enhance the image, with the sky desaturated a little.
If I can’t mow today, I’ll mow tomorrow
It’s just my personal mantra. When I worked in further education it was always difficult to get time to mow the lawn.
Now I can mow when it suits me. If not today, then later.

At the home of Burnley FC… Turf Moor
It wasn’t a good game, the weather was awful. Swirling cold rain throughout. Unfortunately it looked like two poor teams playing. It finished Burnley 0 - 0 Watford.
I was freezing cold and wet through by the end. The walk back to the car from the stadium takes 10 - 15 minutes. It was good to get into the car for warmth and to try to get dry. I was happy to get home to my wife.
We’re at home again next Tuesday night versus Manchester United!

The scoreboard hadn’t even changed to 3-3 at this point
Maxwel Cornet just scored an absolute world class volley . One of the best, if not THE best goal I’ve ever seen.
It was an exciting game to watch in the swirling rain.
A thoroughly enjoyable game…

The River Calder
The river runs through Towneley park, Burnley.
Often dogs can be seen playing in this part of the river, usually with their humans throwing sticks or balls for them.
A BROOK IN THE CITY
Robert Frost
The farmhouse lingers, though averse to square
With the new city street it has to wear
A number in. But what about the brook
That held the house as in an elbow-crook?
I ask as one who knew the brook, its strength
And impulse, having dipped a finger length
And made it leap my knuckle, having tossed
A flower to try its currents where they crossed.
The meadow grass could be cemented down
From growing under pavements of a town;
The apple trees be sent to hearth-stone flame.
Is water wood to serve a brook the same?
How else dispose of an immortal force
No longer needed? Staunch it at its source
With cinder loads dumped down? The brook was thrown
Deep in a sewer dungeon under stone
In fetid darkness still to live and run -
And all for nothing it had ever done
Except forget to go in fear perhaps.
No one would know except for ancient maps
That such a brook ran water. But I wonder
If from its being kept forever under,
The thoughts may not have risen that so keep
This new-built city from both work and sleep.
Originally I wanted to make this a mono shot, but Flickr doesn’t have that filter yet (or I’ve yet to find it). But I used Flickr’s filters instead of iOS, and this came out quite well! I’ve mean meaning to take shots of corridors like this for quite some time, but a moving bridge was just as good! While waiting for an assignment, I (discreetly) took a pic of the jet bridge while it was empty and between flights. I’m proud of the results of this!
