I found this light brown dock bug [ coreus marginatus ] sitting on the top of a lavender flower. I took a few snaps but my camera simply refused to focus on it as it was in deep shade. I invited the bug onto my finger and it willingly accepted the invitation. It posed very nicely on my hand for a few more snaps, in a sunnier spot this time, before it opened its wings and buzzed off to pastures new. I like the beautiful markings on its wings which remind me of ripples in sand, bark beetle tunnels or fingerprints.
This handmade invitation I received form my dear cousin to celebrate his 70th birthday. Our mothers were twins. We don't see each other often, so I'm very glad with this invitation.
Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. I really appreciate.

Would have been better if I had had the presence of mind to switch to landscape orientation; and 65mm ffeq; and take a few steps into the street. But still pleasantly surprised by the remnant quality after cropping, and I didn’t have a moment to zoom with my feet.

Thinking back to where I was ablout a year ago ... on my way to Jackson and the Tetons.
I don't generally shoot too many landscapes, but I find it hard to resist when the waters are so still and the skies are so clear and the reflections of the amazing landscape and environment are simply begging to be photographed. I'm sure that many of you can relate to giving in and capturing an image or two. Especially helpful during this period of rain, rain, rain.
I've learned to totally appreciate the moisture in Colorado ... I just wonder and wish ... why can't it be snow!!! LOL
Hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend.

Flowers in a vase showing as “An Invitation” to our resident singing and chirping featured friends. The local birds bring peace and a sense of harmony to our garden spaces daily. Bluebirds, Cardinals and various Wrens all of which I enjoy their visits. Always thanks for your visits. Gratitude and Kindness have wings and accompany all birds spreading joy and smiles.
