Good news! My photo called "INVITATION" is a part of an exhibition called Art and Soul being held at the San Luis Obispo United Methodist Church. The show runs from April 1st to May 1st and the opening reception will be held Friday, April 1, from 6-9 pm. Please come and enjoy the show. There are 113 works from 97 local artists being shown.
I took my photo "INVITATION" last July at the Lady Bird Johnson Grove of Redwood National Park in Northern California. This bridge takes visitors from the parking lot over the road and into the main Redwood grove. I arrived very early in the morning just as sun was trying to shine through the fog. When I turned around and looked back over the bridge, my breath caught. Such lovely light is a rare gift.
Hello my dear friends
How are you all?
The exhibition will end soon. All new, unposted images.
that I have made on and off in a period of six months.
(RL takes so much of my time^^).
I hope you can come and visit. Bring some friends
and enjoy my artworks.
I will be posting in flickr. www.flickr.com/photos/_serina_/
when the exhibit is over.
Thank you so much.
Much love,
Serina

The Lion Monument in Lucerne is a giant dying lion carved out of a wall of sandstone rock above a pond.
It is a memorial for the mercenary soldiers from central Switzerland who lost their lives while serving the French king Louis XVI during the French Revolution.
When the revolutionary masses attacked the royal Tuileries castle in Paris on August 10, 1792 the Swiss mercenary troops tried to defend the royal family so the royals could try to escape.
The giant sculpture is 6 m [20 ft] high and 10 m [33 ft] long.
Before completing the monument, the artist, Bertel Thorvaldsen, was told that not enough money had been raised to pay for his work so he would not be fully paid. Thorvaldsen wanted to make a public statement about his disdain for the situation. Out of respect for the fallen soldiers he chose not to damage the sculpture itself and decided instead to change the shape of the nook the lion lay inside. The outside edge is in the shape of a pig to this day; a subtle but clear message of his feelings.
I haven't uploaded any still lifes for so long, it's time. Tulips on fine china with gold brim and spoons to symbolize the coffee or tea time.
My first photo exhibit to be held starting next week! 😄 I'm both nervous and excited.
It's a bit of a mish-mash --with flowers, landscapes, and portraits. The invitation is the only photo from the México trip.

Original Alexander von Humboldt was built in 1906 (this new vessel was built in 2011).

From Spain, built between 2009 - 2010, 48.7 m (160ft) in length.
Galleons, used by the Spanish Crown for maritime expeditions from the 16th to 18th centuries, were fabled merchant vessels and war ships that made up the early navies of Europe.
El Galeón, commissioned by the Nao Victoria Foundation, was launched in 2009. The 500-ton, 48.7 m (160ft) long vessel has a 9.75 m (32ft) beam and its four masts hold six sails that measure nearly 11,000 square feet. Converted into a floating museum, five of the vessel’s six decks are available for tours. The vessel carries an all-Spanish crew that lives and breathes the history of the ship and its travels from port to port and in the open sea.

Distance gone, the mystery turns to heat and texture.

It is of utmost importance to decide on a theme prior to choosing your colors and even your wedding invitation cards. This makes it easier for you since you will then have a range of colors to work with. The rustic theme is catching up of late with Forever Fiancés recording a new high in orders for this theme.
