Yvonne on the flight back to California. She is an amazing woman and did not make me feel bad because of my lack of energy. This was the fifth trip we have had together and hopefully there will be more, I want to take her to Malta if and when I get better and have more energy as a thank you for being there for me. Just had my last (yesterday) $1025 needle for my prostate cancer

The Vennerbrunnen (Banner Carrier or Vexillum Fountain) is located in front of the old city hall or Rathaus. The Venner was military-political title in medieval Switzerland. He was responsible for peace and protection in a section of a city and then to lead troops from that section in battle. In Bern the Venner was a very powerful position and was key in city's operations. Each Venner was connected to a guild and chosen from the guild. Venner was one of only two positions from which the Schultheiß or Lord Mayor was chosen. The statue, built in 1542 shows a Venner in full armor with his banner.

In 1871, Pugwash Lighthouse was established on Fishing Point at the entrance to Pugwash Harbor and the Pugwash River. The lighthouse, which was built in a “schoolhouse” design with a square tower rising from one end of the dwelling’s roof. This style of lighthouse is uncommon in Canada, but was frequently used in the United States.
The narrow point of land on which the lighthouse stood was often subjected to erosion and flooding. A stone retaining wall was built along the bank in 1878, and many things had to be done every few years to protect the point from erosion.
The gallery deck on top of the tower was rebuilt in 1880 so that a larger lantern could be used with a more powerful optic. Around 1960, a new tower was built on the point, and the old Pugwash Lighthouse was sold to the Mundle family, who moved the structure to their nearby farm.

From here to the end of the trip are pictures taken when I (Dennis) had to go back to Matane after 4 weeks to get my car that was damaged.
Île-aux-Foins (Hay Island) is both an eco-tourism site and a place for outdoor family activities. The park includes a network of walking trails and interpretive panels with information on the surrounding flora and fauna, lovely beaches of golden sand for sunbathers and finally. Around the faux lighthouse (observation tower) itself, painted in the colours of the Acadian flag, you will find a picnic site, a children’s playground, barbecues, toilets, change rooms and parking.

De Gannes Property - Michel de Gannes de Falaise (1702-1752) held a commission in the colonial troops. Born to a military family at Port Royal in Acadia, he trained in Quebec but saw much of his service here alongside military in-laws and cousins. Twice during 1744, de Gannes was off making war in British-held Acadia, leaving this house to his wife Elisabeth de Catalogne and six children. They had a seventh child later, 5 daughters and 2 sons in total.
He also had a daughter with Marie-Anne Carrerot, his mistress before he got married.
A insulating layer of Boston boards conceals the simple log walls of Michel de Gannes’ house as well as other homes of people with noble names. Rich and poor people lived close together in the eighteenth century, the elite never doubted their superiority and felt no need to be isolated from lesser folk. Workmen and clerks laboured and sometimes lived in the nearby storehouses. Tailors and wig makers made their rounds to the houses and nearly every household included at least one servant.
The lives of servants hide from scrutiny. One slave won freedom, married and acquired land; labourer's and fishermen's daughters might serve until they saved a dowry and could marry and raise a family, but many servants lived plain and silent lives, dependent on the families they served. In a little house like this one, a domestic would have been lucky to get a bed in the attic — some servants simply curled up in a corner of the kitchen. Despite their obscurity the presence of servants and working people throughout the community was important in that time.
BNSF9257 leads Texas Utilities loads past WIndy Point on the last miles of the climb up Crawford Hill. Access to the location was once open to guests of the ranch, however is now by invitation of the new landowner to locals only.
