I don't think anyone could have seen this Great Horned Owl with the unaided eye. The owl became part of the rock. San Luis Obispo County, CA.
“We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.”
Mother Teresa of Calcutta
As much as I've come to love Japan, the Japanese and Japanese culture and language I was appalled to notice the treatment of the homeless and disenfranchised in Japan. At least from what I saw and experienced at Shinjuku Station and surrounding areas the homeless are invisible to most Japanese.
Coming from a country and a city with so many outreach, social, medical and religious organization funded services for this demography, it was heartbreaking to realize most of these men and women have nothing but a prayer to go on.
This full-scale concept design of a sustainable house can be found on the campus of the TU Delft, Netherlands. The technique, suitable for retrofitting existing buildings, basically puts a skin over the house.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I'm not entirely sure what the gesture is here but to me it looks like she is eating some invisible cherries. Enjoy!

se il nemico è invisibile , non ci resta che diventarlo pure noi.!!?
prima o poi dovrà pure uscire allo scoperto...

Took a series of self portraits of myself in my favorite car, a 1993 Landcruiser with 280,000 + miles. My children learned to drive in this car. My youngest was two when we bought it. My oldest hit a moose in it and I am certain there are many stories I do not know about:)
I was playing with the idea how people think no one can see them while they are inside their car. Looking at the first set of shots I was no where to be seen. I was invisible. It was a bit unnerving. I kept trying different settings and angles. This is one of only two shots where part of me is visible.
Invisibility seems to be one of my qualities or attributes. Wish I was invisible when feeding the chickens this morning:)
What a great Misty atmosphere..!!

Completed this in 2001 during my senior year at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Editorial design project where I was teamed up with a photography student and had to design a page spread and cover for an article titled, Invisible Girl.
CN 3152 heads east down the J in Frankfort. This lite engine seemed to be doing it's best to be overtaken by a snail, and holding up 2 road freights in the process. If nothing else, there's always some interesting operations going on on this portion of the J.
"Books?" he said suddenly, noisily finishing with the toothpick.
Mr. Marvel started and looked at them. "Oh, yes," he said. "Yes, they're books."
"There's some ex-traordinary things in books," said the mariner.
"I believe you," said Mr. Marvel.
"And some extra-ordinary things out of 'em," said the mariner.

“I went over the heads of the things a man reckons desirable. No doubt invisibility made it possible to get them, but it made it impossible to enjoy them when they are got.” – H.G. Wells; ‘The Invisible Man’.

A 'Fun for Friday' shot here, following on from my previous Invisible Piano image, I just loved that this could so perfectly be a missing harmonica with the shape of her hands - which were obviously just shielding her eyes just a moment before. Taken at very close range with a 17mm focal length!
Wishing you all a wonderful and creative weekend!

Geckos seem to have a low opinion of our human senses. This is taken just after this shot I uploaded the other day, after this gecko crawled slowly sideways, deeper into this spiral banana leaf. Once in this position, the gecko acted as if it was completely invisible, and didn't react much to my movements.
For some reason, these geckos in profile are always my favorites.
Oh, almost forgot to add that I'm also considering this a "contact" theme shot as well, although it's obviously a repeat. But actually, the very straight body flat against the leaf feels like contact, and we've still got the eye contact going, even if the gecko is now thinking "Stupid HUMAAHN!"

The most recent installment of my new series, Night Terrors...and my favorite image that I've made all year. I found this dead bird while on a walk in the forest.
Personal updates - I'm waiting on my next foster child to arrive. No idea who it will be or when, but our home is open. Been painting on my prints for Samsara and can't wait for that series to debut in January. The first draft of my novel is finally complete! I'm working on second draft revisions now and plan to have it finished by November.
