2015 Invasion Classic Car Show - This's the 8th show taken in Deep Ellum on the east side of Dallas, Texas.

Invasive species, Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) found in Seminary Fen Scientific & Natural Area in Chanhassen/Chaska, Minnesota. These grow all over along the roads in Minnesota.

This was originally the site of the Mudcura Sanitarium, a world-famous spa that was opened in 1909 and operated until 1951.

Per MNOpedia, in 1951, the sanitarium was sold to the Black Franciscans, Order of Friars Minor Conventual, from Louisville, Kentucky. They named it Assumption Seminary and the site became linked with both the Colleges of St. Catherine and St. Thomas in St. Paul.

The Seminary remained in operation until 1970 and then sat vacant for many years, becoming a popular hangout for teens and other thrill seekers. The main building burned and was demolished in 1997.

The land is now home to a Minnesota DNR Scientific & Natural Area that protects the rare calcareous fen that is now the star of the show here.

Waves of geese fleeting from the north. To be honest, I don't miss these noisy bastards - welcome autumn

The Allied-Solconian Forces in their way to the capitol city of Concordia, with more than 10,000 men.

Concordia has been without communication since the ASF attacks on the planet. Still unknow if the city is prepared for the inminent invasion.

Pollen invades the creek.

Some really old shots from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park that have been hanging around since 2008.

Invasion by Michael Zwingmann consists of five cylindrical forms sited on a former football field, which from a distance resemble giant black hay bales. Closer inspection, however, reveals the solidity and potential menace of the material and the work demonstrates a collision between the man-made and natural worlds.

Came upon this little tribute to a World War II veteran the other day. A miniature C-47 transport plane of the type used to drop paratroopers over occupied France at the start of the Normandy invasion in 1944. All these years later, I stood there imagining what this guy went through and marveled at the fact that he had somehow survived and went on to live out his life not all that far away from me. He's gone but his legacy lives on, and the heroics of that time symbolized by this tiny model plane, faded and strewn with grass clippings left behind by a weed whip. Second war veterans are becoming scarce now with the passage of time, and the number of survivors dwindles by the day. But growing up I recall they were still prevalent and vibrant, not all that far removed from the war years. Although I had great respect for them, I always felt somehow inadequate in their presence. Nothing in my life could compare to theirs. I recall meeting the father of one girl I had started dating. He sized up my shoulder-length hair and denim jacket; scowled a bit and said "when I was your age I was fighting Japanese on Guadalcanal" and I felt depleted. How to you come back to that line. You don't. Honestly my biggest ambition at that point was exploring beneath his daughter's sweater. That moment has stayed with me all these years (his comment, not the sweater delights). I still feel mostly inadequate, but at least have found better ways to honor these heroes.

Y yo que creía que iba a tener una tarde de paseo tranquila...

A herd of clouds drift over Hart Fell in the Southern Uplands. I didnt know whether to call the clouds a herd, fleet, armada or gathering but they sort of came like an invasion of spaceships. Yeah I better keep taking the meds lol.

Beautiful wildflower or invasive weed? I say both. It is not native to North America but has been introduced and spread all over. It will take over prairies that were already in trouble. However, it has buds, blooms and seeds that are very beautiful & it attracts all kinds of pollinators. This one is in bud state and has attracted several non-biting midges.

Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota)

Non-biting Midge (Chironomidae family)

For Slider's Sunday

From the Eureka Springs Mardi Gras parade yesterday. So much fun, took a ton of shots with my "good" camera and some with my iPhone. This is an iPhone shot edited in Snapseed with the Tilt Shift and Retrolux filters. Happy Slider's Sunday!

Warning: There may be a "few" more Mardi Gras shots in the coming days...bear with me! : )

Sunrise over the Sydney Opera House with "River Life" by James P Simon projected on the sails. Always was, always will be. Shot on Gadigal country.

¿Quién invade a quién?. La naturaleza pide su sitio, y se mezcla con la mano del hombre. Las casas buscan su espacio. Quizá no haya invasión, sino una convivencia urbana y natural.

Trona Pinnacles so far has been one of my favorite places to photograph. The rock formations are so unique you can always go back for a revisit to find new subjects and compositions. The day looked fairly cloudy and right before the sun had set I was hopeful that some great colors would come out of the sky. Thankfully during my one day at the pinnacles, we were lucky enough to get these amazing colors.

Having a relaxing evening chilling in our livingroom, when I see what looks like a seagull invasion out on our patio. So took a quick snap, but they flew off before I could get the second artistic shot.

Please Note

Yes, this is an old creation, so don't tell me please, I know it.

I'm thinking of uploading more of my older un-edited creations.

This will happened when you don't shut firmly the door during a sand storm. Especially if you are in the Namib desert.

Questo è il risultato di non aver chiuso del tutto la porta durante una tempesta di sabbia. Specialmente nel deserto del Namib.
