Glacier Spegazzini, Lago Argentino

Fotografía realizada a través de una ventana del complejo arqueológico de La Araña de Málaga.

Observamos a la izquierda el Peñon del Cuervo y a la derecha un dibujo que estaba pegado al cristal de la ventana.

Quedando esta curiosa foto.

the day the space elephants returned to bring death to the midwest

This is a Monk Parakeet we saw in Barcelona. We saw a few in Athens as well.

Coming from the north we had not seen them before and we loved them.

But they seem to be a menace in the countries they settle in. It is considered an invasive species 🤔

Time to call Ripley!

We've been invaded by gypsy moths this year. They are everywhere. Most of the trees have leaves that are filled with holes and the caterpillars are lined up on each branch for their turn at what is left. They are all over the side of our houses, railings and porches, lawnmowers, cars, lawn furniture. Anything that is outside is covered with them. They fall in the dogs water by the dozens so cleaning the water bowls is constant. When you come in from outside it's almost guaranteed to have a couple on your shoulders or crawling up your legs and of course on your head. Wearing a baseball hat is a good idea right now. I saw one sitting on a red squirrels head yesterday. He needs a tiny squirrel hat. I got up close and personal with this one who turns out to be kind of cute. Fascinating little creatures.

... with no time to process any new photos I take with my dslr, here's another iphone shot from my trip to Japan, which seems like it was ages ago ...

We are currently living in a globalized world, but with the feeling that many human values are being sidelined.

While exploring Windsor, Ontario’s Malden Park I came across clusters of this purple wildflower. A little research has me believing that this is ‘hesperis matronalis’ more commonly referred to as ‘Dames’ Rocket’. This plant is part of the mustard family and is considered to be an invasive plant species. But on this particular morning the flower in the sunlight was quite pretty.

Introduced plant species now outnumber the known species of Australian natives, botanists say. About 27,500 introduced plant species have made their way into the country, compared to 24,000 native plants. Many environmental weeds are successfully invading ecosystems. They have escaped from gardens and farms and are invading creeklines, woodlands and coastal areas. Many of these plants are fast growing and have highly successful reproductive and seed dispersal mechanisms, including abundant seed production, seeds that remain viable for many years, and fruit and seeds that are attractive to birds and mammals. They often have few predators or diseases to keep them under control in their new habitat. The pictured species is the seed setting stage of Stinking Roger, Monoculus monstrous. florabase.dbca.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/29418
