Japanese wineberry is an invasive plant in many parts of the U.S. "It is a vigorous grower and can form dense thickets covering large areas, displacing many native plants in the process."
But... it is edible and tastes similar to raspberries.

It's not a Halloween shot, but here's a nod to the festive season - currently taking a bit of time out from shooting, see you in a few week's time.

Lupines are indigenous to western North America but are classified as invasive in several countries of the world. Since their introduction in the mid-1990s, invasive big leaf lupines (marsh lupines, Lupinus polyphyllus) are rapidly colonizing braided river banks and gravel bars on Patagonian rivers. I saw huge numbers of the lupines blooming along the lower reaches of Rio El Canal along the Carretera Austral, Aysen, Patagonia. So while they make a beautiful display along the rivers, they are not natural to the habitat and can cause changes in river sediments.

INVASIVE NATIVE
I've posted an image of this unusual plant because of its unique life cycle. Dodder is an annual seed-bearing vine found throughout the world. Dodder seeds germinate in the soil and live on their own for 5 to 10 days until they can find a suitable host plant, or they will die. As the thin thread-like stems rapidly grow entwinning the host, numerous modified roots (haustoria) are inserted into the stem of the host plant and tap the host for water and nutrients. After successfully attaching to the host, the Dodder will then sever its connection to the soil and rely totally on the host plant for survival.

Macau is always fun to visit. You get the feel of the old colonial times, as well as the bustling casino life. This shot is from the old part of the town facing the Grand Lisboa hotel.
A similar photo called "the Invasion" by Hong Kong based photographer Paul Tsui’s went viral last year.
I processed a balanced, a paintery, and photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

I took this one during a summer storm in August last year. The sky was low, brooding, and full of darknesss on one side, but there was a patch of warm, golden light breaking through. I waited until it lined up with the island, and I was able to capture the invading storm on the right contrasting with the summer warmth on the left. The massive cloud formation reminded me of some massive alien ship descending to invade, hence the title.
