The less I am, the more I become.
Inspired by Leonard Cohen.
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.
“Spontaneity, form, texture, nature The prompt for Creative Spark Kickoff week 2 @atiliay was ‘Messy’. So many possibilities were offered and amplified. I was led into a portal by Olivia Lin of Francis Bacon, his studio and then, his art. If you know the book, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, Surrealism led me to a few favorite artists of mine, @remedios_varo_ Remedios Varo, @leonoracarringtonestate Leonora Carrington, Kay Sage Toyen, and Dorothea Tanning. Orienting and disorienting introspection and commentary of the world between the world wars. Trying to make sense. Something many of us are trying to do after the gun violence and death in Memphis, Half Moon Bay, Monterrey Park and the war in Ukraine. Long tangent…. returning to form, order and disorder. Nature. A fern from a friend’s garden in Occidental, @bombayink Blue and Sepia, lichen from a tree in Occidental and painting with a twig. Also inspired by @annblockleyri Abstract landscapes/ Landscaped Abstracts Exploration of color, brush strokes, texture, mark making.”
Dyxie tidbit #18 - I have an excellent memory and find myself constantly daydreaming or reliving moments that bring me joy. It comes in handy when I am taking photos of myself. As witnessed above.

Created by Duncan Rawlinson, this work explores the latent space through the use of photography and artificial intelligence imaging techniques. The image captures a corridor where vibrant colors and light interplay, forming a journey that transcends the ordinary and evokes deep introspection and discovery. Each hue holds a story, guiding viewers through layers of human experience and revealing the dynamic nature of existence.

Part of a series ‘Outside Reflections’ a series of self portraits exploring perceptions I think people see me as, want me to be , and what I am. Self exploration introspection on a journey to navigate through false realities I find most damaging.
"...and then there's the opposite of this, which gives the title of my book.: people who develop a an oddly specific need for music. They MUST have it." --Oliver Sacks, author of Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain.
I found this nice little monkey at Ashish's place, sculpted out of a dried coconut. Isn't it wonderful, when you realize that the guy who did this, must have seen the monkey in his mind, when he saw the coconut!
