Sacsayhuaman Esplanade

Sinchi (military chief)

Let the plaza be filled with his people and warriors! Let the conch-blowers, flautists and other musicians enter!

Now enter the heroic imperial army! Our brave soldiers have hurried here from all the regions to celebrate, here in Cusco, the Festival of the Sun!

Our empire continues to grow, bringing our culture to the farthest wilderness. The people of Antisuyo have come with their offerings, songa and dances. Welcome them in a spirit of joy and fraternity. Let the retinue from Antisuyo enter!

Our wise mitimaes have carried the benefits of our wisdom to the wide horizons of the Great High Plains. Their people are now the children of our father, the Sun. And that is why they are here to salute him and to rejoice on his day. Enter iur brethren of Qollasuyu!

In the arid regions of the north, our Quechua race has declared its laws. From there, very far from Cusco, the people have brought their offerings and their affection for our father, the Sun. Let us receive them with an open heart. Let those of Chinchaysuyo enter!

From Cusco, the navel of the Earth, we have opened the four furrows of life. And so it is that Kuntisuyu, far away to the west, is part of our empire. Its people now live under the harmonious light of our customs and that is why they have come to express their gratitude to the Sun god. Enter, our brethren from Kuntisuyo!

The Sacred Sun

My Sun! My father!

We greet with great joy

Blessed with your light

My Sun! My father!

My Sun! My father!

You are strengthening the universe

Protected by your warmth

My Sun! My father!

Inka

Oh, Sun god! Our father!

The father Sun is with us

On his great feast day

Let us ask him to send his bright rays

So that we might live in harmony

The festival of the Sun has come

To bring us joy

The day of the Sun has come

So that we might rejoice

Inka

Oh Creator without equal who is in every corner of the Earth! Who gave life and courage to all men! Oh Sun god, watch over us! So that we might live in health and security, free of danger, and living in peace give us everlasting happiness and life. Hold us in your hand and receive our offering, oh father Sun, this is your day!

But first inform me of the condition of our kingdom. How is life there? I wish to know, Oh Sun god, so that you will take pity on us of we are suffering, or continue to protect us if all is well.

Reports are made.
