Jens Voigt recieved the loudest cheer of any rider when he came to sign in for stage 3 of the 2014 Tour de France in Cambridge. He then did another interview :-)
Today I was asked to do an interview with Radio Rijnmond 'On the Road' concerning the book I made about nature reserve 'De Kwade Hoek' in the Netherlands.
The interview itself took place in a cramped trailer with the rain pouring outside and a technician (to the left) practically baldeagling my face. And still I managed to sneak a couple of shots in between commercials. It was fun...
Phillip (22), Formula 1 Motorsports Solutions Specialist: “In 2013 I began my apprenticeship as an electronics technician for devices and systems at RIEDEL. Since completing the program in 2017 I have been a Motorsports Solutions Specialist for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team’s intercom and radio systems. At each race, I am initially responsible for the technical set-up of race control and all groups working in the pitlane. Then I set up and commission the communications system for Team Sauber. After that, my focus is on supporting the team and making sure everything runs smoothly. After each race, we immediately dismantle and pack our gear for the next race.
At RIEDEL, I particularly enjoy the friendly atmosphere – almost everyone knows each other – and the opportunity to travel around the globe.”

Zachary Fabri’s Black Tape Ebony Frame celebrates the living moments of Fabri’s African American family and friends by creating a reel-to-reel analog audio recording of one-on-one conversations. Originally, the project was created to record his father’s stories as a political refugee from Hungary in 1956, but soon expanded to provide space to contemplate the heightened culture of police violence against Black people. Through these conversations, Fabri’s Session examines mortality and immortality as they relate to both remembrance and refusal.
After each conversation is recorded, Fabri will wind the audiotape around an ebony frame, sealing it and thereby preventing access to the conversation. The only information revealed from the conversation will be the name of the participants, date, and time. By intentionally complicating this accessibility to the conversations, Fabri invites viewers to consider the future problems of technological obsolescence, as well as possible ways to safeguard Black cultural content against commodification.
How do black people create and control their own content? What is the role and responsibility of cultural organizations to facilitate critical discourse? How are “Black Futures” protected? While these are valuable queries, the goal of Black Tape Ebony Frame is not data collection or in-depth interviews. For Fabri priority is placed on having organic, pedestrian, and meandering “stoop chats” where guests can discuss these questions openly. As such, the Session gallery will be transformed into a live recording studio influenced by the portrait studio photography practice of Seydou Keïta and Malick Sidibé.
I’ve been retired now for about twelve years. And ever since I’ve been retired I’ve wanted to do something. I’m not a lay home watch soap opera kind of girl. I ran into a place called non-profit technology resources down near Spring Garden and Stan introduced me to recycling. And what I do is the donations that have come into the YWCA where I started and Malt Computer Volunteer Group, with the donations that come in, they were just sitting around. So I decided to tinker with and fix them.
As of the past four years we’re a Microsoft authorized refurbisher. We’re licensed by Microsoft to refurbish computers and install licensed products. Because we’re an authorized refurbisher, that means I’m obligated to wipe any and all hard drives. So I can assure people if they want to donate it or someone comes in and says I want to donate and I want my data, I’ll open the computer up and pull the hard drive out and hand it to them. Because when I re-image it, it has to be wiped. I have other hard drives.
You used to be able to put computers out on the sidewalk. Now you can’t do that. Also industries can’t dispose of their computer equipment the way they used to. So they donate it. They say you come get it. No you drop it off because I know they’re saving money (plus they’re getting a tax deduction} because they don’t have to pay for disposal.
My concern is since I’m a grandmom my concern is with children, middle school, high school and college students. When I get donations of laptops, the college students are first on the list AT REDUCED PRICE? At minimal price. Especially a high school student who comes in and they’re honor roll. They get a whole PC for twenty bucks. AND HOW DO THEY FIND OUT ABOUT YOU? Usually word of mouth. Everybody knows “Miss Wynnie, the computer lady.” Summit Presbyterian Church, Mount Airy.

Gabriel Rogers of Kerens, W.Va. was interviewed by film-maker Elaine McMillion Sheldon after the showing of her interactive documentary “Hollow-The Film.” A recording area was set up in Eshelman Science Center to capture stories of residents reflecting their sense of home. Approximately 75 people attended the screening which not only shared the story of McDowell County, W.Va., but also America’s vanishing rural life.

To know John Felix Arnold the Third one must be prepared for the personality of the man. Tattooed, tenacious, and extremely driven, he talks of his passions and his past while on a recent visit to his studio:
1). Can you tell us a bit about your history as an artist, and how you first became interested in creating art?
My parents are both dancers, my step father is a photographer, and my former step mother and my step mother now are also both dancers. I apparently started drawing really wild abstractions of things laying around the house, of some old animal bones my dad had,and whatever I could mark with crayons and magic markers from the time I could draw on a wall or paper or even myself...
