This is an aspen tree in our neighborhood.
It has grown up and around a light pole.
When the tree has leaves, the pole is almost totally obscured.
This photo is from the spring so only its branches and buds are showing. For a night view see flic.kr/p/FswhwA.

Initially I had a teeny doubt, if this was a bland theme! but I was wrong....because, in the 20 minutes I spent photographing, I literally walked into about 5 different mesh subjects in the backyard! I am happy with the one I ended up sharing in MM. please see my other takes on the theme and share any feedback. MM has been an invigorator!...to say the least.
HMM!

Here is a picture in the dark of the same tree and lamp posted yesterday (see flic.kr/p/FgSMKC). This aspen tree has curled and twisted around this metal pole. In the dark, the shining lamp gives a different perspective of the scene. The spring buds on the aspen branches seem to glow.

Three tree trunks with roots so intertwined they are inseperable as they grew up around a rock. Fascinating sight on the hike to Fragrance Lake.

These tree trunks caught my eye as I walked by ... intertwined or tangled trunks, growing as one. Intertwined with each other is a good message for these times we live in... not so much tangled!
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
To me it looks like the one is carrying the other?
A Slinky is a toy pre-compressed helical spring invented by Richard James.
It can perform a number of tricks, including travelling down a flight of steps end-over-end as it stretches and re-forms itself with the aid of gravity and its own momentum.
Great fun from Studio Indigo.
Hope this brings a smile again, have a good day and thanks for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

In the Ka'u Desert of the Big Island of Hawaii life struggles on black sand and lava. This Ohi'a tree is mostly dead, but still manages some new growth and has become almost indistinguishable from its lava host. Hawaii Volcanos National Park
Native to the Caribbean, the fronds of the thatch palm have a beautiful fan-like structure; I liked the dynamic, fractal-like composition of these two intertwined.
Pieces of inspiration that were sent along with my project for this book.

The Municipality of Rotonda, home of the Pollino National Park, located in the southern part of Basilicata, is an excellent tourist destination. Perched on a hill, at the southeastern edge of the Mercure Valley, it is an area of great natural and scenic beauty. With narrow streets and simple churches, the town is the natural starting point to explore the enchanting intertwining of flora and fauna offered by the mountains of the Pollino chain.
A shot for this weeks 52 in 2016 Challenge. The theme is intertwined, the shot is SOC with a little bit of sharpening. It is naturally B&W.
I have read the bull elk when fighting will sometimes lock antlers in such a way they are unable to free themselves and will perish locked together. I had never thought of Bighorn sheep having ths happen but this incident made me realize it could. Their horns could lock and or one could harm another's eye it appears. Those horms are massive and weigh SO MUCH. A ranger once had a full curl set of horns and I could barely lift them they were so heavy.

The road we travel through life has bumps, curves and at times leads us astray.
Every step we take, every direction we choose has the possibility to bring us closer to where we long to be.
The final destination isn't so important as we all end up in the same place at the end, but that journey... our journeys in living, now that's where our tale lays.
So take each step; and don't linger too long for surely the next will bring another adventure, which more choices and more wonder. It's not optimism, it's reality and together, intertwined, we can paint a wonderful world.

I've been feeling off all week, slow, lythargic and generally not like myself. Perhaps my iron is low or maybe my insomnia is catching up with me and I'm gearing up for a crash. Anyway, the point to that is I'm not feeling awesome and haven't always been in the best of moods because of it. But today when I returned home there was a package at my door, and in it contained the filters I forgot in Knoxville and this wonderful origami delight!
It is such a beautiful gift to lift my spirits on such a blah week.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Intertwined - It was a dream experience to capture the leopardess Jivda with one of her cubs on a distant hillside to close out the leopard photography portion of the trip. I needed every bit of 840mm on the R5 to beat heat shimmer from the rocks & make this image happen!
Special thanks to Kartik Patel and a local guide for their expertise tracking and anticipating the whereabouts of the leopards. Their passion, knowledge, and regional experience were truly inspiring and it was a humbling experience to learn more about how this species thrives in this region from them.

I recently resurrected an old light painting tool with a new rgb pool bulb.
I thought I'd give it a run out with some camera rotation whilst panning.
