TimeCruisers is one of my top 5 fave themes. Not only because I grew up reading the comics. But the action and sense of adventure in the sets them selves led my childhood into many worlds of imagination. Also the absolute ridiculousness of parts used to make their wacky contraptions was hilariously fun!

All twelve modules have now been fitted and just a little cleanup left to do on some- I've also nearly finished casting all the payloads which go in the back of the habitation modules, so that ought to be done by the end of today.
In between casts I was making the tunnel module master, which is now already moulded and I'll soon be casting from.
The last thing I did yesterday was make the brass arm which juts from the ship's aft. I intend to tap a 1/4" tripod thread into it for mounting purposes, so I needed the join to withstand holding up 5kg; I reasoned the strongest join I'd be able to whip up at 11pm in my shop would be if I pinned and soldered the two brass bars together. As you can see, it works a charm.

I can't believe how long it's been since I updated the thread on this build- I've been working on it incrementally but totally neglected to keep things posted.
Regardless, here's where I'm at;
five of the modules had severe air cavities under the main layer of resin where it ought to have been solid, so rather than ignore the issue (as it wasn't visible, but was structurally questionable) I cut out those areas before levelling them out with resin and filler.
Then this evening I rewatched Interstellar itself whilst panelling the repaired modules.
Tomorrow I'm going to build the master for the spherical joints... my intention is to vacuum form them in halves to preserve the ability for disassembly.
Or almost no edits, this is actually the final version of my work with the canvases (the light layers), I also had to rework colors and the human at the giant red feet.
The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles was a location dressed to play NASA's rocket silo in the 2014 movie "Interstellar" (top). The shooting took place in the huge six level lobby of the hotel. Lucky me, I was attending a function at the hotel on one of the days the filming took place. This lobby is a maze of six levels of bridges, stairways, walkways, and elevators, so my knowledge of the exact areas that the shooting took place proved to be valuable for my photo hunt.
The hotel is located at 404 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles.
Hitches rides on to interstellar asteroids, studying both the asteroid as well as surrounding space.

Webb recently observed interstellar object, 3I/ATLAS (now being referred to as a comet) with our Near-Infrared Spectrograph instrument as it passes through our solar system, adding to the data collected by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and the recently launched SPHEREx mission. This comet doesn’t pose a threat to Earth, but cataloging its journey before it disappears back into the cosmos allows us to better understand these interstellar objects. It is only the third confirmed interstellar object that we have observed passing through our solar system.

I spent the entire day yesterday working on the Ranger- I widened the airlock recess in order to fit a resin detail piece.
Then I used a resin cast from the 1/20th Tamiya Tyrell P34 as a basis for the thrusters, which I then laboriously milled out.
The milling machine is a very new toy to me, so I'm pleased with the results. I'm certainly no machinist yet.
The rest of the day I spent refining the bullhorns, though I forgot to get any photos of how far I got with those.
