A workshop/ masterclass with photographer Robert Norwood on capturing people, movement, moments and interactions with the sculptures/ installations. Robert favours a high contrast mono treatment for his images so influenced by him I've been trying to achieve a similar effect. The photo group were the main actors in these images.

This section is about the growth of the EU over the years. There are these glass panels along the centre stretch with a country map- so that would give you the story of when/ why/ how that particular country joined the EU. Of course not all the countries but quite a few which probably have the more significant stories behind them.

Hart House Theatre proudly hosts Canada’s largest University dance festival – the U of T Festival of Dance (FoD).

Initially created 18 years ago as a venue to provide dance groups on campus the opportunity to perform on stage for an audience, the Festival of Dance has now grown into a celebration of the diversity and prosperity of the U of T dance community. Past events have included over 60 different dance pieces, well over 200 performers and an impressive variety of dance forms including: Jazz, Ballet, Ballroom, Modern, Contact Improv, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Irish, Latin, and Egyptian Belly Dancing, just to name a few. With such an abundance of dance groups associated with U of T, participation in the festival is a great opportunity for dance groups to promote their own work and ventures, and interact with other dancers and forge collaborations.

Challenge: Customer needed interactive maps to show coverage areas for their services.

Solution: Google Fusion Tables combined with Google Maps. I imported county names and data into Google Fusion Tables for each state. I turned each county "ON" or "OFF" for coverage, assigned color values and connected it to Google Maps for plotting...resulting in a nice, interactive web map solution.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of FH Hagenberg students working together with the Ars Electronica Futurelab on semester projects in which they creatively explore their approaches to interactive and generative arts. Uniquely, these projects are realized in media spaces like the Deep Space that present a very special challenge in themselves.
