The Plitvice Lakes ([pli'tviʦɛ̝], Croatian: Plitvička Jezera) are a national park in Croatia, situated at [show location on an interactive map] 44.85° N 15.62° E, in the Plitvice Lakes municipality, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The lakes are situated on the eponymous Plitvice plateau, between the mountains of Lička Plješevica (Gornja Plješevica peak 1,640 m), Mala Kapela (Seliški Vrh peak at 1,280 m) and Medveđak (884 m). The sixteen lakes are separated into an upper and lower cluster formed by runoff from the mountains, descending from an altitude of 636 m to 503 m over a distance of some 8 km, aligned in a south-north direction. The lakes collectively cover an area of about 2 km², with the water exiting from the lowest lake to form the Korana river.

The Plitvice Lakes lie in a basin of karstic rock, mainly dolomite and limestone, which has given rise to their most distinctive feature. The lakes are separated by natural dams of travertine, which is deposited by the action of moss, algae and bacteria. The encrusted plants and bacteria accumulate on top of each other, forming travertine barriers which grow at the rate of about 1 cm per year. The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colours change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.

Berlin: Very cool touch tables at the recent gallery exhibition in Berlin held at the Martin Gropius Bau. The collection featured 60 years of German art and these Flash interactives (In English and German) let patrons learn more about the art all around them.

Sixty influential artworks are on display in Berlin to celebrate Germany's 60 years of statehood. The exhibition shows milestones of German post-war art - painting, sculpture, photography and installation – from 1949 until 2009.

Under the title '60 years, 60 works', the exhibition features one piece of art for each year between the founding of the German state in 1949 and the present. Sixty short films accompanying the artwork give visitors an overview of important events in Germany from each year and elucidate the external influences that shaped the works.

The second international Workshop concerning the European Tele-Plateaus took place in the Medialab Prado, Madrid. More than 40 participants from the region attended.

Along with various ETP-artists, the workshop focussed on:

* Ensuring the technical networking and implementation of net-supported interaction of several distant participants

* Scheduling and advancement of interactive networked virtual envirnonments.

The participants of the workshop were offered the possibility to become acquainted with the functionality of the Camera-Motion-Sensing-System that is used in the context of ETP. They would be able to contribute in the technical, artistical and conceptual development. Under the leadership of reverso, terms of body-telematic presence should be ascertained, which are avoiding the presentation of precisely identifiable shapes and rather create spacial, acoustical and visual amorphous perceptions of presence. That way, a criticism on the model of the telematic communication in the information society should be raised.
