19207 arrives at Lincoln with a 56, seen on Pelham Street and bumping my number of photos of it up to two.

25.5.21

I was out for so long I ended up seeing three different 56s arrive, the second of which was worked by 15615 - another required Scania - seen here parked up in the layover bay, basking in the sunshine while displaying the Skegness-bound 56 blind the whole time, ready for the next journey.

It had just arrived on the Interconnect 53B from Lincoln, operating from Market Rasen via Binbrook and the Lincolnshire Wolds to take school children home. From here it would return on the second to last 53 of the day to Lincoln.

Here Stagecoach East Lancs bodied Volvo B7TL type number 16902 is caught by my camera on layover in Boston Bus Station prior to departing with the above journey on InterConnect service 57 to Skegness. As previously mentioned this route is also covered by Brylaine InterConnect service IC7 and combined with the Stagecoach IC57 timings the two concerns provide a half hourly frequency throughout most of the day. However, the respective timetables make no mention of this. Vehicle 16902 was delivered new to Lincolnshire Road Car during May 2001 and originally carried their fleet number 902.

Today (29th October) marks the end of a proper, regular bus service to the village of Tetney. It is currently served by the Interconnect 51, which runs half hourly between Grimsby and Holton le Clay, with hourly extensions to both Louth (via the A16 villages) and Tetney.

When the service resumes on Monday 31st October, just the hourly Grimsby to Louth will remain. Tetney will retain an infrequent 3 times per day service, the 50 between Saltfleet and Grimsby.

Speaking of Interconnect, here's 15808 on its way around the bus station, with an advert just as faded as the one on 15809 - this time though it's a Sonic movie advert. I think I can add 'purple liveried buses missing any IC branding' to the list of Interconnect failings since while the ADL E400s are slowly being branded up, the Scanias like this one have had it all removed for no real reason.

Human Structures (San Francisco), 36 feet tall, galvanized and painted steel

Permanent installation, 555 Mission Street, San Francisco, 2008

Human Structures (San Francisco) is composed of 62 painted steel figures, interconnecting to form 5 cylindrical towers. Each of the 62 life-size figures is water-jet cut from steel plate, and then each is given its structural folds. Before painting, the figures are galvanized, followed by an epoxy primer, and finally a coating of catalyzed urethane color. 12 pre-coded colors are used, including seven figures remaining in their primal, shiny, galvanized state. The 62 figures are bolted together hand-to-hand and head-to-toe with a series of multicolored connector plates.

Departing Lincoln bus station for the long trip to Skegness via Horncastle is an Enviro 400 I haven't seen since last summer, so nice to see it back here again on the 56 after so long.

23.2.21

As the OMSI E400 MMC was updated, which required reworking of all the repaints, I thought I'd recreate the Gainsborough batch I'm familiar with from the 100, to replace the slightly more basic and inaccurate preexisting version of this repaint that no longer worked. Probably should have waited until I finished it before putting screenshots on FF because all that did was prompt the creator of the old one to update it... removing the need for me to make this in the first place. I do believe they call that "a kick in the teeth".

People seem pretty pleased with it so clearly they've never seen a real one. I'm now thinking of adding all the fleet numbers (and exterior differences of the individual vehicles), doing the same for each of Gainsborough's ALX400s and releasing them as a sort of realistic Gainsborough decker bundle for people to use as AI when Phase 3 comes out. After all, I started doing the ALXs so I might as well continue.

Following the arrival of 5 ex Mansfield E300s, the five Interconnect Scania E400s are due to transfer to Worksop (after repaint). This and 15177 are the last two that remain at Grimsby, although they should both depart this coming week.

10898 departs Lincoln bus station with a 100 as far as Gainsborough only. Parked up behind it is similar vehicle 10899, which normally wouldn't be there when there's another 100 in Lincoln, but the diversion delays could quite easily have made two of them bunch up together. Having said that, recently there have been numerous instances of 67 plate MMCs turning up on the 107 in place of a Beachball (or Local) liveried decker, so equally it could have come in on a 107.

The extensive network of CallConnect routes built around Lincolnshire County Council’s InterConnect trunk routes mainly operate on an on-demand basis. Stagecoach’s 53 in Market Rasen is a perfect example of the connectivity offered by this arrangement, with a number of CallConnect routes prefixed 53 linking various villages with the trunk route on an as-necessary basis. The 53L, which criss-crosses the Lincolnshire Wolds, is something of an exception, featuring a number of timetable journeys.

With the Church of St Mary and St Peter visible, TC Minicoaches Fiat Ducato FL63CZE is seen in Ludford as it operates the 10:00 Market Rasen-Louth 53L (denoted by the piece of paper, rather than the destination blind). TC Minicoaches are one of the main providers behind the CallConnect network. The vehicle would have operated into Market Rasen as the 09:30 ex Binbrook 53X which calls at Kirmond le Mire, Ludford, Tealby, and North Willingham by request. Further timetable journeys exist on this service at 13:10 Louth-Market Rasen and 13:40 Market Rasen-Louth. Ludford is additionally linked with Grimsby on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays by Stagecoach service 25.

Another visitor from Gainsborough, on the 100 this time, is Enviro 400 MMC 10899. It is seen passing Skeg-based 18416 as it departs the bus station.

This could of been angled better. There's not much you can do when you are close to a bus which is about to pull up right next to you. I do ask, is this the future for the Lincolnshire "Interconnect" network? Grimsby have eclipses but used to have scania E400s, Gainsborough have E400s but they're MMCs. Scunthorpe don't actually run an interconnect route from their depot but they have 2 interconnect vykings running local routes. Lincoln has a scania E400 in Interconnect livery, i think. I've never rode on of these "new" interconnect buses, maybe i'll get a ride on them next year.

Shame there isn't any fair this year, we'd probably see loads of these on the P&R.

Seen going into layover after completing either the 59 or 56 is Interconnect E400, 19200.

19206, but this time it's what you might reasonably call daylight even if it was 20 past 5 in the evening - the sky is blue, after all. This makes it my best photo to date of this bus, seen pulling off from the layover bays in Lincoln bus station in order to loop round to the stands and take up a 56 to Horncastle and Skegness on 12.3.21

After an absence of a few months, the InterConnect liveried Scanias have begun appearing on the 56 again, alongside the all-ADL purples and the other stuff they chuck on it from time to time. I've seen at least two different Geminis at Lincoln depot over the past month, so I don't know what the deal with those are.

So 15811, first Scania I've seen on the 56 in a little while, is here in Lincoln bus station on 3.2.21 with the Beachball-style logo and lack of face coverings banner on the front, while some rude E200 MMC comes in from behind with its lights blazing, about to park up right in front of the Scania.

So far this is the only InterConnect livery E400 I've seen that has the lilac strip between the headlights but without black headlight clusters.
