Last week a very tiny bird flew against our window and nearly got inconscious. Fortunately, after a while, it recovered enough to continue its flight. The little fellow appeared to belong to the species Regulus regulus, also known as Goldcrest (or goudhaantje in Dutch).
The Goldcrest is the smallest European bird, measuring 9 cm and weighing as little as 5g.
It was a really interesting encounter.

I filmed the majority of my project in one evening after hours at my school's drama department with a friend (the protagonist/victim) on my Fujifilm XT10. I picked after school to film it as the lighting was far darker and we were much less likely to get interrupted by the bell for changeover.
The footage was imported from the XT10 into Final Cut Pro X and then re-sequenced to an approximate duration of around three minutes. I applied some colour-grading and super-8mm film effects, plus a video effect to some parts. I also added some music: the eerie background music is by the band "Miranda Sex Garden" whom I actually reached out to for permission to use their track, and they agreed on the condition that they would get to see the final film.

Design: Think. Know. Do. is a one-week intensive design camp at Ohio Northern University. The camp is being offered through the Summer Honors Institute program for gifted high school students who are entering their sophomore, junior or senior years in the 2010–2011 academic year.
This year’s Design Camp embarks on an exciting journey to explore the fundamentals of visual communication. Working in teams, students investigate how ideas of sustainability can be applied to a community’s interactions, its economics and its physical environment. Student teams use a variety of design methodologies and skills to find answers to how design can improve the experience of a recycling plan on campus.

ABOUT SOZ KESIMI:
The inspiration for Soz Kesimi comes from the rich Turkish cultural and architectural heritage.
The mesmerizing Mosaic Lamps acted as a spur to the usage of sheeny fabric, translucent stones and the 3D tassels used in detailing of the pieces. Mukesh has been substantially added in addition to Reshum and other conventional materials for the same purpose. These lamps have also played a vital role in selection of the hues for the collection.
Dolmabahce palace has also been a major source of inspiration for the motifs on the pieces, which aim to reflect the grandeur and luxury of this splendid construction.
Moreover, the exquisite craftsmanship of Turkish monuments and the mosaic art itself inspired the intensive use of cutwork which will be seen in most of the pieces.
The culture, architecture and jewels have all been inculcated in the designs and mixed with Subcontinental ethos to give Soz Kesimi a festive look as well as make it wearable for the contemporary woman of this region.

Shot some black and white film on the marching band trip to Cleveland. Shot on a Sears M35 which has to be one of my favorite film cameras I picked up for a buck at the goodwill. Exact kind of tone and everything I was hoping would come out. Kodak B&W 400

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen visited a clinical hospital where wounded Ukrainian servicemen receive treatment.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mette Frederiksen spoke with the warriors, in particular, with those who were wounded during the fighting in the Kursk region, and in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions.
The President awarded the defenders with the Orders “For Courage,” II and III classes.
“Thank you for your service, for defending our state. Get well as soon as possible,” he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also honored the military medics with the Order of Princess Olga, III class, and medals “For Military Service to Ukraine.”
“Thank you for everything you do for our guys. I have great respect for your work, for saving lives. My heartfelt thanks to you for this,” the President noted.
In addition, the leaders inspected the equipment used by the doctors in their surgeries and examined the project for the construction of a new admission unit, designed to receive 40 patients at a time. It will include a diagnostic center, an examination room, a manipulation room, and an intensive care unit. It will also be integrated into the passageway between the surgical and trauma buildings, providing quick and barrier-free access to the three buildings in the complex.
