Citizens of Christchurch protested in front of the ruins of the cathedral, frustrated by the lies, delays, bullying and incompetence of insurance companies, the Earthquake Commission ( EQC ), their representatives and those in their employ. Thousands are still waiting to have their homes repaired or rebuilt. Thousands more wait for engineers to assess faulty and non-compliant repairs to the foundations of their homes.

122-124 Colmore Row is a Grade I listed building on Colmore Row in Birmingham, England. Built as the Eagle Insurance Offices it was later occupied by Orion Insurance and was Hudson's Coffee House until late 2011, It is currently vacant (as of December 2012).
Completed in 1900, it was designed in an Arts and Crafts style by William Lethaby and Joseph Lancaster Ball. Pevsner's The Buildings of England: Warwickshire describes it as "one of the most original buildings of its date in England" and Foster's Birmingham (Pevsner Architectural Guides) as "one of the most important monuments of the Arts and Crafts Free Style in the country".
Evenacre acquired the building in 2011 and undertook a £500,000 renovation of the building including restoration of the stone façade and interior works including a feature reception. In October 2014 CBRE started marketing the vacant building to potential tenants.

Los Angeles-born Douglas Trumbull was originally a technical illustrator before he began work, at Graphic Films, on documentary films about NASA and the Air Force. It was one of those films, seen by director Stanley Kubrick, that got Trumbull hired as a special effects supervisor on 2001: A Space Odyssey. The latter film -- which showcased the slit-scan special effects process invented by Trumbull -- established Trumbull as an important special effects director and designer, and three years later he made his debut behind the camera with Silent Running, a message-laden environmental science-fiction film that got positive reviews and developed a strong cult audience. Trumbull received Oscar nominations for his work in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and Blade Runner, but his next directed film, Brainstorm (1983), was marred by tragedy when actress Natalie Wood died shortly before her final scenes were to have been shot, resulting in a long battle between the studio and the insurance company over whether to shelve the film or recut it with some scenes rewritten, which was the solution finally arrived at after several months. Since then, Trumbull has returned to special effects design work, specifically at the Universal Studios theme park.

About 44 million people in this country have no health insurance, and another 38 million have inadequate health insurance. This means that nearly one-third of Americans face each day without the security of knowing that, if and when they need it, medical care is available to them and their families.
Having no health insurance also often means that people will postpone necessary care and forego preventive care - such as childhood immunizations and routine check-ups-completely. Because the uninsured usually have no regular doctor and limited access to prescription medications, they are more likely to be hospitalized for health conditions that could have been avoided.
Many American today are only a job loss away from finding themselves among the 44 million and in this economic downturn many will find themselves in this situation. It is ecomonically foolish and morally wrong to allow this many people in the worlds wealthiest nation to fall by the wayside. Because in the end emergency care is more costly to the government and taxpayers billions more. Secondly many people die needless because care comes to late or have been denied.

What is this mind set of people who support this present system? is it selfishness, I have healthcare so screw those who do not, or is it lack of conscience on the part of the Insurance companies and drug companies who continue to lobby government not to do the right and moral thing. It is time Americans wake up and demand health security.

The Canada Life Building is an historic office building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The fifteen-floor Beaux Arts building was built by Sproatt & Rolph and stands at 285 feet (87 m), 321 feet (97.8 m) including its weather beacon.
It is located at University and Queen Street in the city's downtown core. Work on the new headquarters of the Canada Life Assurance Company began in 1929 and it opened in 1931. It was the fourth building to serve as the headquarters of Canada Life, Canada's oldest, and at the time largest insurance company. Previously it had been housed in offices at Bay and King Street.
The Beaux Arts structure was the first of a series of planned structures along University Avenue, but the Great Depression halted these plans. When it was completed it was one of the tallest buildings in Toronto. It remains one of the largest office buildings in Toronto with windows that can be opened by its occupants.

120 E, Main is a thirty story condominium building in downtown Micropolis. Dubbed the Crystal by locals, due to the large amount of floor to ceiling glass, the building has a lobby and tenant features, with twenty nine floors of condo, plus a few penthouse units in the six story pyramid style top, designed by the architects as a modern nod to the nearly American Home Insurance building. The use of black wedge plates for floor plates, gave each floor 12 triangular patios on each floor. The use of floor to ceiling trans-clear windows opens each unit even more. The building proved quite popular, and by the time it opened in 2008, it was already 85% sold.

With most plans you pay a small fee known as a copayment for each doctor visit. You don't have to fill out a bunch of forms as you would with a traditional plan, and there are no deductibles to pay.
When you're ill you must consult your primary doctor, also known as a gatekeeper, who will treat you or refer you to a specialist. You are not covered if you choose to go to a doctor who is not part of your network.
PPOs
PPOs cost slightly more than HMOs, and are the most popular health insurance plans because they provide more flexibility than HMOs. They provide health care through a network of health providers.
Your copayment for each doctor visit is about the same as an HMOs, there are no forms to fill out, and no deductibles to pay. But there are no gatekeepers with a PPO so you can see a specialist without first seeing your primary care physician.
POSs
POS plans cost more than HMOs and PPOs, but provide the most flexibility of the three health insurance plans. They provide health care through a health provider network, but you have the option of seeing a doctor of your choice.
Copayments for doctor visits within the network are about the same as they are for HMOs and PPOs, and you will be reimbursed up to 80% for your out-of-network doctor visits after you pay a deductible.
