Three performances 24th - 27th February in NYC
COME TO THE FRONT is His Name is Alive's Warn Defever and Anti-Social Music
joining forces for a three-day residency in New York City. Performances include a
chamber ensemble piece that begins peacefully but catches fire quickly at Monkeytown,
a film of the mythical "Wolfman of Detroit," a noisy electric kalimba installation
at Brooklyn's Soundfix, and an all electric thumb piano composition at The
Living Theatre in Manhattan.

Concept design for responsive table installation. Collaborative soundscape using gesture based manipulation of sonic forms
This is an Installation I created at School of Visual Art Summer Residency Program. The piece took five weeks working up to 10 hour days. The size took up two walls of the room. I look for inspiration from the surrounding architecture of the room and incorporate elements into the work. The architecture also leads the direction of the piece.
Art installation at INSCAPE (a portmanteau acronym: INS / Culture, Arts, Preservation and Engagement). Former U.S. Immigrant Station and Assay Office in Seattle, Washington, also known as INS ("Immigration and Naturalization Service") Building.
This was originally (in the early 1930s) the infirmary.

Installation of Pastor Candice Combs at New Life Lutheran, May 23, 2021 Preaching: Bishop Sue Briner
Plein Air is a group exhibition that explores shifting ideas of western landscape, painting, and fieldwork. Traditional plein air painting, which typically involves painting outdoors in a single sitting to capture a vista in a certain quality of light, is taken as a point of departure to consider the ways in which humans use, observe, record, and commune with the land. In this exhibition, the practice of plein air painting is considered in the context of land surveying and settling, public and private space, multidisciplinary onsite research, art history, and the embodied experience of being there. Outdoor painting from observation is approached as ground truth—as bearing witness—a way to experience, process, and understand a range of physical landscapes, and our relationship to them.
The exhibition includes work by Susanna Battin, Esteban Cabeza de Baca, iris yirei hu, KB Jones, Hillary Mushkin, Sterling Wells, and Paula Wilson. The exhibition was organized by guest curator Aurora Tang for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tucson. An expanded version will be on view in the Armory’s Caldwell Gallery from July 21 to December 10, 2023.

Here is a very basic mockup of what I plan to have my installation look like.
I'll be using a brick-patterned curtain/fabric (two pieces) hanging on a rod that'll be coming off of the wall. A red rug will be leading up to the opening where the two curtains meet. My portfolio work will be displayed behind the curtain in mismatched frames hanging on the wall. I want them to fill the space the best I can behind the curtain so that nothing peeks through and becomes visible from the sides, if possible.
Above the curtain, I hope to have a decal of a quote by Aristotle that I felt went well with my concept. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to add anything else.
